New C6 3 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Will Citroen's new C6 follow in its great line of quirky, interesting large cars? I thought the DS, SM and XM were all great, but never had to own one, so perhaps that's just as well. Surely modern computers ought to allow citroen to produce a different (i.e. not German or Japanese) but reliable big car. -
Saxo 1.6 engine diagnostic light on 19 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Hi, Friend of mine has a 51 plate Citroen Saxo 1.6 VTR. Three times now the engine diagnostic light has come on. The engine runs and performs perfectly. It's been to the Citroen garage and been fixed by changing a switch. Yet again it's come on and she wants to know if this is common and fixable. -

Saxo Digital dash reset 21 May 2003 (Forum)
I have a Citroen Saxo VTS that I recently took to a garage because there was a fault with the fuel gauge. It was covered under the 3 yr extended Citroen warranty and the dash/instruments was replaced. When it was replaced they did not re-program the dash with my old mileage which to me seems wrong. -

Citroen C5 Mk III 3.0 HDi Tourer - Uprated bulbs for C5 Mk III 10 Apr 2016 (Forum)
I bought some Philips X-treme Vision +130% bulbs for my Mk III C5 and whilst the car was in for something else with the local Citroen dealer I asked if they would fit them. The head mechanic (who had worked many years for Citroen) strongly advised against it. He said (something like) the extra brightness would draw too much current and create too much resistance in the lighting circuit and the car's management system would interpret this either as a blown bulb or a short circuit and would close the circuit down. -
Citroen - 2004 2.0 hdi Snapped cambelt at 61,500miles 24 Jul 2013 (Forum)
On top of that my comrehensive mechanical breakdown insurance that I was sold when I purchased my C8 would not pay for the damaged engine at all - just the first £1000 which is almost the amount I have paid to the main dealer. Citroen recomend that the cambelt on the 2.0 HDI diesel unit is changed at 100.000 miles - a procedure that involves engine removal to complete! I bought this vehicle in good faith and after 3,700 miles and 5 months I am faced with a huge bill now in excess of £6,000. -
Citroen C5 (2001 - 2008) - 05 2.0HDi Lumpy Idle, Stutter and a few other bits 15 Jan 2011 (Forum)
The car has a full Citroen service history, and I had the FAP and its fluid renewed about 10k miles ago in August last year - the stutter was present before and after this was done. Oh, and sometimes, when accelerating hard in the dark with cars following behind, I swear I can see smoke! -
What car next? 6 Jun 2010 (Forum)
Our other, recently acquired car is a 2005 Suzuki Ignis which I enjoy but is a bit lacking in torque after the Citroen. I recently had use of a Citoren C1 courtsey car and loved it (the Xsara was in a Citroen dealers for another electrical fault repair). My question is this, I would prefer to buy another smaller car preferably petrol however, I commute 80 miles a day to work - we use the Ignis at weekends so my annual Citroen mileage is 12-13,000 miles. -
