306 Dturbo diesel pump and immobiliser 26 Apr 2005 (Forum)
Will I need to swap the pumps over? surely the code is stored in the ECU and that then sends a signal to the fuel shut off valve in the pump? The pump on the new engine is slightly different in that it has a damper and a pipe leading to the oil filler, whereas the old one doesnt have these. Any help will be appreciated. -

CODE: P0313 Misfire Detected with Low Fuel P2458 - Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration Duration P115A - Low Fuel Level - Forced Limited Power P115B - Low Fuel Level - Forced Engine Shutdown I've put an additional 20 ltrs of fuel in it with no change, fuel light still on range dashed. -
Mazda 6 - Fuel & the fuel filter 13 Aug 2013 (Forum)
2. To what extent can the on-board computer record? Does it record bits and peices like when fuel was topped up? if the car hit red on rpm etc? 3. Under a recent and further examination of the car, the fuel filter was removed and the liquid contents were taken away for testing, now - i've got a diesel car but the fuel filter had a smell of petrol in it - what can cause this? -
Which device to prevent misfuelling? 13 Jan 2017 (Forum)
BTW, I'm sure somebody will be along in a minute to say "just pay attention while refuelling and save your £40". Answer: I do pay attention, and I have a fuel pump routine that involves a final check of colours, labels and prices before I start pumping. But it would only take one incident when I'm tired or distracted to make an expensive mistake (as I did once before, on the first day I owned a diesel car in 1995). -
Dacia Jogger - Small Turbo GDI engine 31 Jul 2024 (Forum)
One of the annoying stuff you don't want and #3 it's has a warranty that I wouldn't get with a second hand 7 seater at the price I paid. My question is what fuel to use. I've always used standard petrol and diesel fuel in run of them I'll family cars only using the super stuff in more spottier cars, but this being my first small turbo GDI engine car would it be beneficial to use the super petrol to help stop carbon build up on the valves etc. -
BMW125D - A couple of discussion topics 12 Nov 2020 (Forum)
It would make it easier for new drivers to have it the other way round surely? I like to look after my cars and use the premium fuels. Whether they are worth it I am not sure. Anyway, when I used the premium diesels I understand they contain additives and when I lift the fuel cap it states no additives. A contradiction? -
Audi RS 4 - Dealer selling dangerous cars. 14 Feb 2019 (Forum)
As part of the background research I am doing for my solicitor, I found a website showing a review on the same dealer that had been submitted by somebody unknown to me who bought a car from the same dealer at about the same time. This persons car had had a faulty fuel line repaired very badly. This caused diesel fuel to spurt out all over his hot engine. Once again the dealer denied responsibility. Given the very dangerous nature of the cars sold by this dealer, is it likely that the police might be interested ? -
55reg mondeo 115 2l - mondeo not starting 1 Apr 2015 (Forum)
he then put the injector back and now its just cranking over and over with a fault of low fuel pressure when cranking. but it did run before he took apart. we had another injector which allowed the engine run before he did above, So put the injector back and coded it back in, and try and it is still coming up with low fuel pressure. -
Citroen Xantia 2.0hdi 2000 model - engine sound wavy when you put the boot down 3 Dec 2012 (Forum)
Hi all I have 2000 model Xantia 2.0hdi 90bhp with AirCon, when I put the boot down to go up through the gears the engine gives a wavy sound to it as if she is not firing on all cylinders or not getting diesel. pulled out the fuel pressure regulator at the weekend and blew it out with a air hose, all was clean there. plugged the computer in and one injector was injecting too much fuel, got that one changed and still happening. -
ford focus 1.8tdci sport 56 reg - electrical fault? 1 May 2012 (Forum)
Hi there, we have a 56 reg ford focus 1.8tdci sport and have problems in the past where the fusebox got water in and in turn made the instrument cluster go costing us a fortune to get fixed! .................recently the car seems to be using more diesel than normal and has some power lag when you try to accelerate at times. Today my husband went to drive it and it started no problem, drove no problem but when he looked at the dials on the dashboard the temperature dial was at the highest point and the fuel gauge was higher than if you had a full tank of fuel! -
BMW, 2002, 320d Touring, 80k - Starting , smoking and ragged engine problems. 18 Sep 2011 (Forum)
The car has been lumpy and juddering for some time, culminating in a glowplug being replaced earlier this year. The problem has not gone away, since then the fuel injectors have been suspected and due to an unclear diagnosis only cleanig fluid applied, but very little has changed. Returning from West Country yesterday and having topped up with Shell Regular diesel it was very dillicult to start after the next stop. -
2002 mondeo TDCI - Mondeo TDCI wont Start 19 Jul 2011 (Forum)
Hi All I have a mondeo tdci which my wife has been using regularly for the past 2 years with no problems then 2 weeks ago she parked it up outside the house next morning it would not start checked for fuel full tank looked for any leaks and could see nothing, checked the forums & saw that the cam sensors fail so bought one of these and a crank sensor and fitted both. I must admit that I did change the fuel filter at the start of my fault finding but as I have a fast flow of diesel coming out of the return pipe when it is removed I presume that the pump is working and most of the air would be out. -
Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 05 1.6 DPF failure 24 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Have got a Focus estate, 3 months outside of warranty that is having problems with the fuel system. Started off as a faulty fuel injector. Ford delivered three new injectors to the dealer and they also proved to be faulty. I am now told that the Diesel Particulate Filter is blocked and that it needs replacing at a cost of over £1000. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 2003 130TDCi - Erratic idle. 28 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Shame on me. Effect - slight improvement. As if the PCM (ECU in old money) was relearning how to fuel the engine correctly. 3. Added a shot of STP fuel system cleaner. The bigger bottle £15 from halfords, added to tank then filled up with shell diesel. Efffect - Car appears to be cured. No erratic idle and no wanting to drive at 1550 revs when in gear. -
Excessive Consumption 23 May 2001 (Forum)
However, the fact that it STILL smokes somewhat suggests, to ME, that too much fuel is going in there!) -
Vauxhall Astra G Diesel - Diesel engines scam 19 Oct 2014 (Forum)
‘Quite a bit of poke under the bonnet, too. What with fuel injection, they’re just as nippy as petrol cars. Also, they hold their value for much longer . . .’ So when I proudly unveiled my new diesel automobile, I thought he’d be impressed. -
Korando, Kuga or 3008 19 Jun 2018 (Forum)
I want to buy a used car - I live in Peru and models are limited and there aren't any diesel cars after 2011. I have narrowed the choice down to: Ford Escape (Kuga) 1.6 (2013) Peugeot 3008 1.6 (2015) Korando 2.0 (2015) In terms of reliability, fuel consumption - would welcome opinions. -
Volvo D4 - dpf, dmf scaremongering? 12 Sep 2017 (Forum)
Fed up of trying to find a decent family petrol car on a 12k budget. Petrol used prices increasing, poor fuel consumption etc. Love the V60, but OK if you want a ridiculous Polestar. So I'm afraid I'm going back to diesel. Does anyone know if I would have issues with a 3 year old V60 D4 with 50k on clock? -
