  • Fiat Punto - Leaking camshaft cover 16 Jun 2002 (Forum)
When I opened the bonnet today I noticed a thin film of oil had leaked over the front of the engine from underneath the camshaft cover. Closer inspection revealed that the front nearside camshaft cover mounting bolt was loose. I tightened it up and checked the oil level, which was full. I don't know that much about cars ( which is why I get the car serviced by a garage) but I wonder whether any damage is likely to have been done by this leak?

  • Motor Legal Cover - Worth it? 6 Jan 2010 (Forum)
How many backroomers bother taking this option out? Does the insured generally benefit from adding legal cover and if I didnt have it what are the consequences in regard to trying to obtain from a 3rd party. My insurance website states that Legal cover, 'covers any legal cost for any motor prosecution excluding drink/driving related offences.
  • Vauxhall Warranty Cover 3 Mar 2005 (Forum)
The water is coming from somewhere in the upperpart of the car. The dealer says that the bodywork is not covered by the 2nd & 3rd year, and that we "Should have read the small print". The only small print in the warrenty booklet says that wear & tear items, soft trim and consumables are not covered, but dosn't seem to exclude anything else.

  • Suzuki - Car Signwriting 10 Jun 2021 (Forum)
Diabolical company with terrible customer care based on my experience. Spoke to Swinton Insurance immediately following my phone call with Rias, and cover with Swinton for a car with Signwriting is not a problem with them, so instantly took cover with them and cancelled my cover with Rias. Never again and so annoyed with Rias. So if you have Signwriting or get your car wrapped don’t automatically assume that your insurance company will cover you.

  • Insurance - What defines modification ? 16 Oct 2008 (Forum)
We all know if you modify your car by changing the engine management system to increase power output, put bigger wheels on, modify air filter/exhaust system, upgrade the stereo etc... you have to by law notify your insurance company and they review and change your policy accordingly or decline cover and you have to find alternative cover or remove the modifications.
  • Ball Joint Covers 30 Jul 2002 (Forum)
Hi Everyone This is my first post, and regards an irritating failure on my wife's 1995 Micra. I did a 72000 mile service on the car at the weekend, and found that one of the bottom ball joint covers has split. I've had this before (on the other side of the car), when I discovered that replacement covers or ball joints aren't available.

  • Am I mad for not having breakdown cover? 9 Mar 2019 (Forum)
So this is prompted by a friendly argument I've had with a couple of family members. They think I'm nuts for having never had breakdown cover. I've been driving for 25+ years and in that time, despite driving some pretty ropey cars, I've broken down twice. In both cases I called up the nearest recovery firm and paid them cash to take me home or to a garage.
  • Airbag coverage area on a Fiesta? 1 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Or should it have covered this area too? As the second owner of the car, she is not aware of the air bag having been replaced so it should be as straight from the factory. So, I thought I'd ask you on here, is there a specification for the area that a steering wheel airbag should cover during deployment?
