  • Audi A3 - Do I have to return car to dealer when I reject it 8 Dec 2013 (Forum)
I purchased a car 3 months ago for £7000 and amongst other things (including taking the car back 3 times for repairs) the turbo is now on its way out (I have a report from Audi stating this). The car was previously owned by the manager of the garage so he would have known all the issues with the car. I have had legal advice and they think I am within my right to reject the car for a refund but I forgot to ask them if I have to take the car back to the garage when I reject it.
  • Audi S4 - Stolen Spare Wheel 16 Feb 2012 (Forum)
The only place it has been since it's MOT last year, where they had my keys while I was not with the car (the wheel is in the boot - keys essential), was either the Audi Garage that serviced it, or Gatwick Valet parking. The parking was the "official" Gatwick airport parking and the check in/out form does not mention spare wheels as part of the check, but no doubt says they are not responsible for anything.
  • Volvo V50 or Audi A4 Avant? 26 Jan 2012 (Forum)
What are the petrol units like in either? Dont fancy the running costs on a Volvo T5 or audi 2.0 TFSI but the costs of the 2.4 petrol Volvo or 1.8 T A4 seem to be more acceptable........
  • Audi A6 3.2 FSI 2004 - Water ingress kills MMI 12 Nov 2011 (Forum)
After diagnosis they said it was a control unit that needed replaced (£335) but after replacing the unit it still didn't work. Get a phone call today from Audi saying there is 4 inches of water in car and this has killed two control units. To replace the telephone unit £1294 to replace the other unit £950 to remove and replace carpets £576.....
  • Audi A2 Tdi - new engine 30 Sep 2011 (Forum)
My Audi A2 Tdi has done 158,000 miles and has started using more oil. I bought the car new in 2001 and used the extended service/long life oil option. Until it reached about 145,000 miles the car used 1 litre of oil over 20,000 miles.
  • Audi A4 - Dashboard lights 24 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I notice that other cars have the display lit up during the day - and it did occur to me that this might have once been the case with my Audi, but that the bulbs may have have failed or a fuse has gone at some time during the car's many years and nearly 200,000 miles.  Does anyone know whether or not this model had daytime illumination of instruments?
  • Audi A4 B5 1.6 - poor mpg - anything i can do? 17 Jan 2011 (Forum)
I have an Audi a4 1.6 petrol manual, and its giving really over the top figures for poor mpg. I put £20 in last week and i got 90 miles until the light came on again. @ 122.9 a litre, 90 miles, £20 spend works out for me at 25.14mpg.
  • Audi TT Coupe - Crankcase gas recirculation 4 Apr 2010 (Forum)
It would seem the blowby gasses pick up oil vapour thus coating the various sensors, hoses etc. This seems to be more of a problem with direct injection engines - like those on modern Audis. The lack of fuel vapour into the inlet manifold means that a lot of the oil deposits are not washed away. It all beggars the question, why dont manufacturers build a filter into the system to catch the oil vapour?
  • Audi - How many men does it take to change a light bulb?! 14 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Yes, of course dear (that's what fathers are for isn't it?) Daughter duly arrived shortly afterwards. Checked handbook. Ominously it said see you Audi dealer. Checked internet. First remove entire headlight assembly...... Now fortunately I live in a small town where people are helpful so I decided on the act daft routine and went down to my local car accessories shop.

  • Advice on Selling and Replacing an Audi A3 1.6 SE 2 Aug 2009 (Forum)
My lovely little Audi A3 1.6 has to go and I'm very upset. I'm looking for some advice on how to sell it though and wonder if anyone can help! It's a 2007/56, 1.6 Special Edition 3dr in metallic black, which I've owned since new (one lady owner cliche).
  • Audi A4 B6 (2001 - 2005) - 02 3.0 lambda sensor no signal/communication 8 Dec 2008 (Forum)
I changed the lambda sensor (nightmare) and switched the mil light off but after stopping and starting the car it came back on with the same fault code i checked both lambda sensors with a multimeter and got readings of 9.7ohms and 9.3ohms i knew there was nothing wrong with them but i just changed the pre-cat drivers side one anyway as stated in the cd manual and as i say the fault still there does this mean the heater circuit is at fault does anyone know where to go from here,i dont want to take it to audi just yet. thanks tom.
  • Audi A4 (1995 - 2000) - 98 2.5 white smoke while driving fine on start-up 20 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Hi All, Hope you can give some advise on my recent purchase (Monday). Audi A4 2.5 Tdi that is pumping out white smoke while driving, nothing on start up (and no problems starting), some smoke idling and normal driving, but excessive smoke if you floor it, only noticed it after a run up to 80mph filtering onto an A road and then stopping at a set of lights after a mile or so (lots of white smoke!).
  • Audi A6 + RS6 (1997 - 2004) - N reg Avant 2.0 petrol - Occasional misfire 26 Mar 2008 (Forum)
I have inherited my late father's Audi A6 petrol Avant and whilst it generally runs well and returns 34mpg I have had a nagging problem. It has a misfire sometimes! It is more a hesitation or hiccup rather than a regular miss. The odd thing is that if the engine is switched off and restarted it normally totally dissappears.
  • Audi A4 B6 (2001 - 2005) - 2002 Avant 1.9 TDi - Oil sensor warning light 16 Jan 2008 (Forum)
The warning light 'engine oil sensor faulty' has activated on the dash. On checking manual, it says; take car to Audi dealer and have the oil level sensor checked. Can anyone tell me where the sensor is and if it is something I can do myself. I suspect it is a false reading as the speedo is now playing up, juddering speed reading.
  • Audi A4 B7 (2005 - 2008) - 2.0 TDI 140 engine - fuel consumption 5 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I was wondering why it seems that the Audi A4 with the 2.0 TDI 140 engine is so much more thirsty than other VAG cars with the same engine ? My car has now done 10.5K miles and compared to my old TDI 130 the fuel consumptions is still fairly unexciting.
  • Audi 80 Mk II (1991-1995) - Smoking VAG TDI engine 18 Oct 2007 (Forum)
My Audi 80TDI has suddenly started smoking when the engine is ticking over after a run. The car has covered 120K mostly local miles and has a full VW service history. My VW specialist has treated the engine with injector cleaner and recommended a long run to clear the exhaust out.
  • Audi A4 (1995 - 2000) - Wipers/Indicators/heater fan don't work 1 Oct 2007 (Forum)
On my 1996 1.8 petrol Audi A4 the wipers/Indicators/heater fan don't work when the engine is running. They work fine when the engine is off (and ignition on). Somtimes I can make them work by putting my hand in the fusebox/relays area and waggling things around a bit.
  • Audi approved 9 Mar 2007 (Forum)
So I thought I'd go to a main dealer and pay a premium for what I thought would be better cars. How wrong was I? I am amazed at what my local audi main dealer has the cheek to put on their forecourt. Tired old repcars, stonechipped to death, scratched by carwashes (and believe me we are not talking wear and tear here), smoked in cars with holes in the seats etc...
  • 8 yr old Audi A6 valuation 4 Oct 2006 (Forum)
My wife is putting her A6 on eBay soon. 98 R reg, 1.8T, 145000 miles. FSH, mainly Audi but 2 more recent specialist services. Interior excellent, 7 months MOT, recent decent tyres all round.
