  Following on from a previous thread about ancient battery chargers being made in England, we have recently renewed our central heating boiler together with a digital programmer / timer . The removed timer was the old style rotary clock variety with adjustable “fingers” . Still worked perfectly when removed . I checked inside the case and it was dated 1988 .

  This morning I went to put my van on ramps to fit a new exhaust the van started but didn't rev right away I always give it heat and foot to the floor it didn't pick up right away but got there eventually I turned it off to put the ramps under to back on then got back in and now it won't start not even fireing?

  Currently in Spain and whilst the air con does work, I am not convinced that it works as well as it could; that might be due to the heat. My question is, to what temperature should the system cool the air, or by how much from ambient should it drop? Thanks

  Hi all, I have a mk2 clio 03 plate. I recently changed the thermostat as mine imploded. Now I have no heat coming out inside. I drained/refilled/bled the system but to no avail. Now looking to the heater matrix, the lower pipe (inlet) gets red hot but the upper (return) is cold. Any advice and help would be great Thanks

  The question is, with modern systems do I need another immersion heater or will an instant hot water boiler do? It will need to heat the radiators (14) in a four bed house plus supply hot water for showers, baths and various sinks. All comments appreciated.

  i have a polo volkswagen it starts up rev up to 3000 revs without me acc it and then cuts out by it self,the ign is still on and you can crank it but doesnt fire,if you switch of the ign and start it it fires up and rev up and cut out again,the immob has been remove,what can be the fault,heat sender module or the ecu,

  i've just got a xantia 1.9 terbo desil and its haveing trouble starting on a morning after heating glow  plugs twice for 30 seconds it still takes 1/2 minutes off turning it over to get it started and it kicks out a cloud off white smoke after that it runs well and starts up wen warm not sure iff its plugs or injectors

  hi , ive a slight leak from a hairline crack just on the water level line on the coolant tank , and i,m finding it hard to get anything to stick to this type of plastic that will cope with the heat and presure tried hot melt glue .. areldite ..superglue can anyone recomend something that will cope ..... cheers.

  Another staff member's Dolomite had numerous faults on delivery. Non - functioning brake lights, heated rear window, heater blower switches, imbalanced wheels, leaking screen, rear end clonks and no handbook nor cigarette lighter!

  hello everyone! i have a Rover 414 i, and when its heat reaches a medium level it turns off, and even if u start it over again the arrow at the tachometer doesent move, and even if it moves it doesent pas 2, or it remains statick at 3 even if u dont touch at all the gas pedal. what am i suposed to do with it?

  The AA turned out to my daughters ford KA as it over heated in a shopping center. They tightend up a hose clip and declared the elec cooling fan U/S. How do I check the cooling fan or its sensor . Its not seized up, spins freely.   any help would be great.

  Hi ,ive just had engine rebuild on my astra van ,problem is van over heated  ,i put new pistons in and had skimmed and head rebuilt , now the temp gauge doesnt seem to move  a lot ,so i thought id have a look ,but cant seem to find it!! can anyone help me with its location please ???????????

  Very surprised at how long it took to warm up, even after idling for some minutes outside the dealers (why?). Didn't feel much heat from the heater either. Much depends on this long-awaited engine. Hope its going to be ok.

  Hi, my heater isn't working on my Mondeo the fan just blows cold air on all four settings, the hot air stopped working instantly. I've checked the pipes going into the cabin & they are hot, the engine is not over heating. Would there be a blockage somewhere? Can someone help please? Thanks Jo

  Hi guys , I have had this primera for about twelve months now, with very little probs at all but I have recently noticed that my Blower only works on setting 4, it heats up lovely but it can be a little too much on 4 with none of the first three settings working I have checked all the fuses and they are all fine. Any Ideas ???

  I bought a VW Passat 2001 1.8 T recently and the climate control unit was missing but having installed a new one the controls are working and heat is coming out but the blue lcd display will not light up. I have tried installing another unit to see if the unit was faulty but it did the same with that one as well. Any help would be appreciated.
