the old chestnut.... private parking!! 14 Jun 2022 (Forum)
I have an Electrician arriving today so can't leave home. Tomorrow I shall visit the Marina and check out the parking and signage etc. Maybe camera monitored or patrolled. In the meantime any useful comments are welcome. Cheers Concrete -

Any - Newcastles clean air zone proposal, what a joke 16 Jun 2019 (Forum)
So Newcastle have seen the coffer-filling potential of a clean air zone - and will be rolling that out as soon as they can cover the city in ANPR cameras. What a farce, as usual the justification is emissions, and their answer is to charge EVERY car a fine to drive through the city. They even claim to have considered (briefly I'm sure) fining more polluting cars only, but there's no money in that, as people will gradually upgrade and replace their cars with more efficient ones. -
Mitsubishi ASX - Caught in a temporary speed limit - any way out? 20 Jul 2017 (Forum)
The first time I went on this road this festival season I got to the end of the land I come out of and was greeted by the usual two 50mph signs at the end of the road, not covered, no other speed limit signs (I have a photo of this just after I noticed/got caught by the mobile camera. I pulled on to the main road and saw the officer in a layby, thought it was odd, then noticed a plethora of 30 signs after him which raised my suspicions. I went back and checked for signage and took a photo of the 50 signs. -
BBC news - Parking 11 Feb 2014 (Forum)
He said: "I told them that I would be removing the appeal and I'd be seeing them in court and I wanted the camera operative in the court with me. "At that point they overturned everything, apologised and the attitude couldn't have been more helpful and totally the opposite (from before)." -
Driving in France checklist 16 May 2012 (Forum)
Some stickers to get my headlights to shine the other way 6. Warning triangle 7. I can't have a satnav that tells me where cameras are (car doesn't have this anyway - I use my mobile as a navigation tool) I am under the impression that I should carry spare bits of kit (bulbs) and first aid stuff (which you'd have anyway) but I don't think that's law in France. -
Aping their betters 17 Jan 2010 (Forum)
In the case of Bath, these frightful men and women, worthy successors to the syphilitic, nose-dripping, smelly-trousered aldermen of a couple of centuries ago, and the vacant uprooted peasants who man their Mickey Mouse camera systems, have made their jerry-built Georgian Butlin's-for-toffs noticeably traffic-free. It isn't really the thirty quid I mind, or the fact that the bus lane, in which of course none of the Cathedral City's thirty or so town buses is to be seen, must have been the obvious place to be (or I wouldn't have been there). -
Car rental in days gone by - scams 28 May 2009 (Forum)
Some people managed to cancel their holiday and fly out before the court date - but in the end it was all caught on camera and put on UK TV. (anyone remember) Anyway, regarding our hire of the car and remembering all of this. We took to hiding the car at night in the car park of a hotel half a mile away and only presented it back to them as the very hour the contract expired - which was 9.00AM the day of departure. -
Speed Workshops 4 Feb 2009 (Forum)
She came back in a very positive mood, especially since she was one of 6 people caught by the same camera ( possible club being started up? :-) ). She said that it was very imformative, they were shown video of a real car hits person accident at 35 mph and got the statistics stuff as normal. She said it was scary seeing it but makes sense why 30 is important around town. -

Rubberneckers - what to do? 25 Jan 2008 (Forum)
I think it is time people slowing to look at accidents were prosecuted, or that the police invested in proper screening for central reservation barriers, or to be erected around the vehicles involved to prevent onlookers from seeing anything. 2 hours of traffic for an obstruction in the road / accident / safety related matter) is annoying but understandable. 2 hours of traffic purely so a handful of idiots can get an eyeful is inexcusable, and to make matters worse, I saw three near misses as people drove along staring intently to their right while the car in front braked! Rig up a CCTV camera and charge anyone seen turning their heads towards the accident scene with driving without due care and attention, and causing an obstruction! Discuss. Cheers DP (Sorry for ranting! ) :-) -

Audi A3 + S3 (2003 - 2008) - Where do I find all the info on driving in France? 10 Jan 2008 (Forum)
I'm planning on taking my A3 over there ( hope all will be well). I'm planning on taking my TOM TOM sat nav with me. It does tell me when there are speed cameras in Britain. Will I be ok to take it to France with me? This is my route: Leeds- Folkestone Folkestone- Metz ( where some of my family lives) Metz- Starsbourg (where more family lives and where I went to school) Strasbourg- Lausanne (where Mum and dad lives) and it seems where I have to get a Vignette for the sake of 2 days!! -
Effect of Sat Nav on navigational skill 4 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Is it anyway related to someone's IQ? What do you think? PS: This is somewhat in line with this thread "Aids to avoiding speed cameras counter productive?". But since it is on a different context I thought of creating a new thread. -

Chrysler Cherokee (2008 - ) - I have one as a hire car 8 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Got a few snaps of the vehicles including a Bentley, an Aston Martin and a Bat Mobile. There was a GT40 and a Ferrari but they had roared off by the time my camera had turned itself on. Will post a link once I have them loaded up. Patrick {header tweek - DD}
