  I've put this in Technical matters because it will only interest the technical minded. The car is near Winchester and has been standing 18 months. The engine runs fine. The body is a bit rusty but not too bad. There is starring on the bonnet. The rear bumper is rusted through. The inside is very poor due to a leaking windscreen seal and is very wet.

  Just been offered an old Bmw 735 E32 1988 7 series for about £700. Tempted to buy it as a second car for a bit of fun, however the car by car breakdown doesn't seem too happy about these cars, suggesting I should get it checked out by a specialist before I part with any money. All well a good if the car cost 10 times as much, but not at this price.

   This has been a great car in all ways. Recently, after even a short drive I have noticed the front discs feel hot to the touch. I jacked the car up and turned the wheels by hand. The rear wheels are fine but both front wheels are heavy to turn.

  The following are teh MOT failures: MOT failures: 1) Registration plate lamp not working rear 2) Front constant velocity joint gaiter deteriorated to the extent that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt etc offisde front 3) coil spring broken nearside front 4)Rear wheel bearing rough when rotate nearside rear 5) Suspension arm has excessive play in ball joint nearside front 6) Suspension has excessive play in ball joint offside front 7) Brake pipe excessively corroded offside rear  I was wondering if anybody had any slight incling what the damage could be as I'm a numpty when it comes to cars.

  The suspension has suffered a number of leaks and pipes have been replaced by the main dealer over a period of months On the last occasion they could not get the front and back suspension to work together as self levelling. Either the front remained static while the back rose and fell or the front rose and fell while the back remained static. It was left with the front static and the rear operating normally but at the correct road height.

  Hey all, I don't know if they need replacing or not but given the reasonably low cost of doing so I thought it would be prudent to replace both front wishbones, including bushes, on my 1999 Mk2 Ford Mondeo 2.0. I have found a source for the wishbones, but I am given two choices of size: w/FUEL INJ SAL,EST,HATCH FITTED w/54mm FRONT WISHBONE BUSH w/FUEL INJ SAL,EST,HATCH FITTED w/47mm FRONT WISHBONE BUSH I have no idea which my car has, all other sources for this part don't make any mention of two different types, and nobody on MEG knows either.

  According to the ADAC tyre test for my 195/60x15s, the only tyre appreciably quieter than the rest was the Pirelli ? but it was also appreciably the least economical?. The car is on longlife servicing (it?s a lease car). First service came up as due at 18600 miles, which happens to be 30k km. I had used just the litre of longlife liquid gold that had come with the car ? and it wasn?

  I'll be looking to sometimes transport a heavyish 133cm long flight case, the idea being that one end of it will go over the folded front seat, the other over the folded rear seat area. I've googled a lot to try and see a pic of the front seat folded but to no avail. Can anyone here provide any relevant info, or even a pic?!

  My wife was given a Fiesta as a courtesy car while her own car is being repaired. It was supplied by a well known hire car company. I noticed that one of the tyres looked low on pressure. According the manual, when the car is not fully loaded, the tyre pressures should be 26PSI for the rears and 29PSI for the fronts.

  I have been reading about the issues with "fronting" where an insurer might refuse a claim if they can prove that the car was insured by, for instance, a parent to save the main user of the car, their young offspring, a small fortune. However does this effect a husband and wife who have two cars and who both use both cars approximately equal amounts, could the insure take a similar line if they suspected that, for instance, the car insured by the husband was used more by the wife?

  Hello everyone, I have had a bit of a car vibration issue in the front + steering wheel in my Infiniti Q30 but can't seem to figure out why even after getting a few opinions from different garages. Your thoughts would be most appreciated. Basically the car vibrates from the OSF front driver side when it is cruising at 65mph+ and get worse as speed increases and some mechanical play can be felt right under where the clutch pedal area is (mine is auto).
