  • Volkswagen Polo III (1994 - 1999) - Loss of coolant at rapid pace 14 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Guess now Im finding out that I have been ripped off, exactly a day after my months warranty has run out. Took a ten minute trip not going any more than 40mph and noticed that the car seemed to be over heating (no lights came on just noticed dial was reading hotter than usual). When i had a look i couldnt see coolant level clearly but could hear a slight hissing noise. Popped into local halfords and they wasnt very helpful so i drove home with my heating on full blast trying not to let it get too hot.
  • Toyota Yaris - Wiper water squirter. 25 Oct 2023 (Forum)
It appears to be on a ball joint and it is supposed to squirt backwards and forwards across the windscreen following the wiper. Recently it seems to have gone out of synch, it is not reaching across the passenger side and only squirts on the drivers side (thankfully!) I think this is a probably a simple fix if you know what to do!
  • Ford Mondeo - Vandals 8 Mar 2018 (Forum)
Took my Duster in to National Windscreens earlier this week for a tiny w/screen chip to be sorted. At one side of the garage was a 2013 Ford Mondeo, with every window stoved in bar one, which was the backmost small passenger one.
  • polo - CHIPPINGS !!!! 19 Jun 2012 (Forum)
WHY don't they sweep the road afterwards and recover tons of chippings to re-use ? It was so dusty with chippings flying everywhere I could hardly see where I was going + my windscreen survived by luck only.
  • 2002 Peugeot 406 hdi 90 Rapier - MOT failure - inoperative washers - wiper stalk ? 30 Jun 2011 (Forum)
I've tested the new pump and it works 100% fine - could it be the wiper stalk that is causing the problem - the wipers work ok on all settings but no windscreen washers at all. Is this a common problem with the wiper stalk - seems a lot of them for sale on eBay - Aaaaarrrggghhh !!
  • Renault Scenic 2 - wipers stopped working 23 Oct 2010 (Forum)
my wipers on my scenic 2 stopped working, I checked and replaced the 25  amp fuse in the fusebox under the bonnet  but it blew up again as soon I turned on the ignition, I removed the wiper motor and connection changed the fuse again but as soon as I turn the ignition on with the wiper switch off the fuse blows again. the windscreen wash and rear wiper which are operated by same switch still work. It's probably a short circuit but where? i

  • Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 1996 1.9TD sunroof console waterfall 11 Aug 2008 (Forum)
The aerial has had some type of silicone added when it was put on ages ago so it shouldnt be getting in there. I'm wondering if it might be the windscreen seal - or are there some drain holes for the sunroof that might be blocked? Thanks.
  • Volkswagen Golf IV (1998 - 2004) - How much spares or repair for this Golf 6 Dec 2007 (Forum)
What would be a reasonabe asking price (spares or repair ) for a 2001 Golf Mk4 1.6 S with 119000 on the clock, FSH but with NSF damage which is wheel, wing, suspension, drive shaft, wishbone, windscreen, airbags deployed, A frame probable damage where wheel battered into frame. • BMW advert 2 Apr 2007 (Forum)
(Page 4) Presumably in other press also: Its a voice activated instant messaging system that flashes up a message to other drivers (the example given is "MOVE OVER please") onto the windscreen in mirror text so it can be read in the preceding driver's rear view mirror and it's to be fitted as standard on all 5 series from today. The acronyms are particularly illuminating. If anyone rings for further details of the system, please let me know what the response is...

  • Strange growth in washer bottle 21 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Windscreen washers in my "new" (1995) Volvo 940 packed up. On investigation I found what seemed to be a sort of silicone gasket between the filler tube and the reservoir. I cleaned it. It's a filter! Covered on both sides with a layer of black slimy gunge.
