Tyre fitted 'inside out'! 20 Feb 2007 (Forum)
I have just noticed that a tyre (Dunlop SP30) bought from a local tyre fitter?s last week has ?INSIDE? and ?OUTSIDE? markings and sod?s law, as you might guess, has ensured that it?s been fitted ?inside out?. If that makes sense. There don?t seem to any rotation direction markings. -
Audi 80 2.0E 1995MY 30 Mar 2006 (Forum)
It sounds like an unbalanced shaft, effected by different road surfaces and there is not any judder through the steering wheel or when braking. It?s difficult to tell which side it?s coming from but think it?s the NS. Should I replace the NS inner CV joint (age & 105k mls), could it be the hub bearing although there isn?t any movement or perhaps the gearbox drive flange end? -
Why can\'t I be left to think for myself? 1 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Why can?t I? It seems wherever I have to steer or brake there?s a non-skid road surface to help me. To get me to ?behave? at junctions there are traffic islands, road markings and traffic signals, maybe together tending further towards confusion than helpfulness*. -

Ban Red Meat! 9 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Yesterday I watched a recording of a BBC program, Bodsnatchers, which was broadcast last Wednesday. It\'s a program about parasites. Towards the end of the program they mentioned Toxoplasmosis. Cats are a natural host to Toxoplasma, and they expel it\'s eggs in their faeces. The eggs then form into larvae and need to find their way back into a cat. -

In the short time I\'ve been using and contributing to this great site I\'ve been amazed at the tremendous expertise which is offered by all you technical buffs in response to virtually any motoring/car related problem. -
Worst main dealer ever 11 Feb 2003 (Forum)
I have a completed invoice from him as well which I may use to formally complain to Skoda. But what should I do with the V5? No one\'s going to be interested in buying a car with someone else\'s stamp all over it! Comments welcome, Rick. -
MPV Advice 15 Mar 2025 (Forum)
I'm in the market for a used compact MPV with a budget of around £8000, looking for an automatic to accommodate both me and wife (never had to buy automatic before) and prefer one with 3 full size seats in middle row. Been looking for weeks and now stuck on Ford S-Max, Peugeot 5008, VW Touran maybe Citroën Grand C4 Picasso. Anyone have any experience with these or have any other suggestions. My main fear being making the right choice regarding gearbox etc as I've never driven auto and was put off by reviews of the Ford S-Max Powershift transmission. -

Audi A5 auto boxes 13 Oct 2020 (Forum)
I know there are no real issues with BMW autos but I am unsure about the Audi. It seems some have the Multitronic gearbox and some the S-tronic. I understand that the S-tronic is the DSG box and the Multitronic a stepped CVT. I would be looking for a 2.0 TFSi engine in a car from 2008 - 2010, around £5k. I know to avoid the DSG box at this age but does anyone have experience with the multitronic box ? -

Ré What's a good project car in HJ,s Q&A. If you are looking for a CHEAP, mechanically simple car to dismantle, how about a 90's Skoda? The Favorit/early Felicia was about as non electronic as it gets, with carbs, bolt on wings, wind up windows, etc. -

The Air con hasn't been used much, I know when air con is in use the s/s cuts out. I decided to have a new battery fitted yesterday, apparently, batteries have to go into sleep mode? Well, after a nights sleep, I took it out this morning and again nothing. -
