    These are the MoT pass rates for all manufacturers for all years (1980-2013) As expected, the tables are dominated by luxury and classic brands, with low volumes and high pass rates distorting the results. It’s worth noting that the highest rated vehicles will cover a low mileage and be better cared for than mainstream models, which again distorts the picture for mainstream cars.

    A 42-year-old Volkswagen Beetle that has covered just 90km is going under the hammer at Silverstone Auctions’ Classic Race Aarhus Auction in Denmark on 28-29 May. The highly-original one-owner 1974 Volkswagen was sold to an Italian man who didn’t use it very much and by 1978 had stored it in a barn – where it sat for nearly the next four decades.

    The top speed will be 112mph and Skoda claims that the advanced battery pack will allow the SUV to cover up to 311 miles on a single charge.  Skoda believes that some 15 percent of all new cars will completely autonomously in 2030 and the Vision E is designed to cater for this, with 'level 3' prerequisites for automatic control.

    Previously, MG Rover had reimbursed franchised dealers for the cost of any repairs carried out for a period of up to three years after a new car was sold. However, following the analysis of their financial state, PwC has confirmed MG Rover can no longer afford to honour the commitment.   • Nissan spearheads drive to install 74 EV charging points 22 Oct 2013 (News)
    The project - Rapid Charge Network (RCN) - has been co-funded by Nissan and the European Union and will cover more than 680 miles of motorway. The majority of the electric vehicle charging points - which will be compatible with all electric vehicles and not just the Nissan Leaf - will cover a number of key areas, including Belfast, Birmingham Leeds and Liverpool.
