   I had the unfortunate experience of the front spring snapping on the offside front. Taking out the new tyre and alloy. So after replacing the both front struts springs top mounts alloy and tyre, and costing me a weeks wages, as you can imagine I am a bit miffed.

  I have just experienced the all too common broken coil spring on the front suspension. Scrapped a good tyre in the process as the car was moving at the time. Question, should I replace the shock absorbers at the same time as renewing the coil springs?

  I thought this was just because with having it changed, it would still be dispelling any air in the system. All was well until Thursday. I drove the car to a mate?s house, and after an hour and a half, when I returned, all the windows were steamed up. When I say steamed up, they were really damp and took some demisting. Even the heated rear screen struggled to clear it on the 20 minute journey home.

  Has anyone installed parking sensors on the front of their car? As they are not actuated by the reversing light switch they will obviously be on all the time. Does this give rise to spurious signals when not parking? A switch could be installed so they can be turned on only when needed but remembering to turn it on will probably be a pain.

  One of my ex company cars. Bought for a song off lease company at 2 years old with 75000 miles on the clock. Now 18 years old and still a fantastic car. Everything just works and works well. Loathe to part with it until absolutely neccessary but the front wheel bearings make an awful noise when pulling away especially at corners.

  When the alloy was being removed the air pipe sheered off (with a metal clip still attached) and severely damaged my car - the windscreen is smashed, there is damage to the entire passenger side and roof and the plastic trim on the passenger side has been shattered. Protyre have been pretty good, they arranged a hire car and have obviously said they will pay for all repairs and costs incurred during the time I'm without my car.

  Question is Should I put the Vector4 (7 mm directional tyre, grip rating B) on the front and  the Vredestein (8mm asymmetrical tyre, grip rating C) on the back. I have read that many performance cars fit directional tyres on the front and asymetrical on the rear. Or should I leave the vector 4 on the back on the basis that they have a theoretically better grip rating?

  Saxo in outer lane of a dual carriageway had braked for roundabout but gone straight on where road curved left onto roundabout onto central (raised) reservation damaging front of car. 2. Saxo had been rearended by a Metro at another roundabout so it went into a 406 in front - damage front and rear 3. Saxo was stopped on a slip road, bad damage to offside front and front wheel/suspension hanging off. 4.

  When I start my car and let it idle (I can't drive it, I haven't passed my test yet) it has no problems while its heating up, but when it gets to operating temperature the revs drop and then return to normal and it repeats for a couple of minutes then cuts out.

  Even in lane 2, I could feel the intense heat of the flames but was totally frustrated that everyone had slowed to a crawl to gawp at the spectacle whereas I wanted to get away from the danger as quick as possible!
