Car tyre - how many to change 21 Jun 2023 (Forum)
The rear tyres were recently changed, and the front ones had have around 4mm of tread left, which I was hoping would last until winter. What's the best option to save money without costing me more in the long run : buying the used tire for £25 replacing only one front tyre with a new one Or changing both front tyres with new ones? -
Citroen Xsara Picasso - Citroen Xsara Picasso front strut problem 6 Dec 2017 (Forum)
Hi all, The front struts were replaced on the car (Citroen Xsara Picasso 2005 2.0 HDI), and after a while a creaking-scraping noise developed from the front offside of the car. It only occurs at sharp left turns at low speeds, while the steering wheel is rotated. -

Vauxhall Astra F (1991 - 1998) - 1995 1.6 Clonky front suspension 26 Dec 2008 (Forum)
I have just bought a cheap and cheerful Astra F which drives superbly apart from clocks from the o/s front end. I have jacked up the car and nothing is loose and I suspect the fault is with the suspension bushes. Are these similar to the escort orion lower suspension arm where you just replace the whole item and are these known to be troublesome on the cars? -

Tyres replacing/wear & tracking 12 Jun 2002 (Forum)
(i.e Left rear, to Right Front)? I assume that as the tyres is not being removed off the wheel, than the wheels would not need rebalancing when being moved rear to front. Tyre wear is as follows: FL 2 4 3 3 FR 4 3 4 2 (average 3.125mm) RL 6 7 7 7 RR 7 7 7 6 (average 6.75mm) Above tread depths as as on the car (i.e front left depths are 2mm on the outside, 3mm inside - Front Right 2mm on outside, 4mm inside) Does the wear pattern look reasonable? -
Magnet in the bonnet 28 Mar 2002 (Forum)
I've been driving a hired Vauxhall Corsa for the past 2 weeks. I've got no choice if I want to get to work. It's not a bad car, except for the fact it's cursed!!! Yep, the bonnet attracts things to it. A few stones have hit it on the motorway. Car's keep pulling out in front of me as if on purpose. Pedestrians keep trying to step out in front of me. -
E46 Coupe - water in fuse box and footwell 27 Oct 2013 (Forum)
Not sure what I would find / be able to do re fixing a leak? Is there a sealant inside maybe? The car doesn't have a sunroof - Googling shows a lot of people get leaky sunroof drains. The windscreen appears to be original as it has 'BMW' on it at the bottom. -
Mazda 6 - Nightmare just ended 4 Nov 2011 (Forum)
We went through our credit card company and eventually the FSO - achieved nothing. Now 2 and a half years later we finally take the car back - supposedly fixed. We get another garage to recover the vehicle and the windscreen is smashed and the engine managment system is fried. Mazda UK not interested and the dealership playing dumb. -
Citroen C4 (2004 - ) - 08 1.6 Bonnet Release Problem 10 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Im unsure if i have broken it, or it was like that (all I did was pull it as stated in the book, and like i have done before) The car is still under warrenty, but are we going to have any problems with the dealer. the handle is made out of the cheapest bit of flimsiest plastic i have ever seen, and its a akward way of pulling it (according to the manual you have to pull it to the right, instead of a lever that you pull towards you, like on my car) Thanks in Advance -
Daewoo Nubira (1997 - 2003) - Bonnet catch -- anything to be worried about? 24 Oct 2008 (Forum)
However I have noticed that the last few times I've opened it, you just open it from the inside and lift straight up. Something's clearly not right there, and it's a bit unnerving especially as these cars have thin windscreens and heavy bonnets......... When the bonnet is shut, it's shut -- so the primary catch is fine. However, SWMBO drives this car and I'm concerned that there is a potential safety problem here. -

Rust. 30 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Bother. When I jacked up the rear offside of the car, and took the wheel off, the flipping thing then wouldn't go back on, the PCD of the studs coincided approximately with the centre of the wheel. Had the wheel expanded from the heat of my hands? Had the earth mysteriously moved, or the jack sunk into it?
