• Renault Clio II (1998 - 2001) - bonnet problems. 18 Apr 2008 (Forum)
  One of those things you hear about, but rarely see, until today - white W reg Clio on the side of the road with the bonnet wrapped around the windscreen. Seen this on Watchdog, apparently the bonnet catches don't catch and one day, wallop! Fair play to the driver getting over to the side of the road blind, and what a horrible experience that must have been for them.
• Ford S-MAX (2006 - ) - (2006-) 2.5 turbo - Wipers configured for LHD 1 Feb 2008 (Forum)
  My S-Max (2.5 turbo petrol titanium) wipers seem to be on the wrong way round, configured for left hand drive. The longer one is on the passenger side and sprays water onto the drivers side windscreen on return to its resting position. Has anyone else come across this fault / design flaw? Can it be remedied? Thanks

  Hi all, I have a 20 year old VW polo 1300 coupe S, it's a good runner but recently every time I turn the headlights on it blows the fuse for the windscreen wipers.   Has anyone ever had a problem with increased wind noise after having a windscreen replaced? We have recently had the screen replaced in our C5 after it was damaged and I am sure the wind noise is worse than it was with the old screen. It is a 2.2 HDI, so the engine noise is low at speed and the wind noise is now very noticeable at 70 mph and higher.

  I have an old workhorse Mercedes E300 TD Estate  W210. I do not have the handbook and was wondering what tyre sizes should be fitted to this car, and if mine are standard / ok ? I bought the car with budget Chinese rubber STK Sport 225/55/R16 99WXL  on front Accelera Alpha 225/55 ZR16 99W XL  on rear   They are all legal and passed MOT a few weeks ago, but the grip doesn't feel great, and I was thinking of getting some better quality tyres.

  Cost about 20 quid with balancing. Move the rears to the front on the same side of the car with the expectation that the thrum will be less noticable on the front or may disappear due to a different wear pattern. Any thoughtS?

  Hi, Some info please. Car needs front discs. Had a look and brake set up looks pretty similar to most modern designs. Question is when I remove the caliper is the disc then free to be removed or is any special tool required.?

  Hi, I always seem to be getting a greasy front screen from the inside. I have cleaned it using vinegar...it remains clean for a day then its greasy again. what could be causing this? the car in question is an Audi Coupe 1984 B reg. Could it be something to do with dirty heater vents or something else?

  Hi all. The headlights on a 406 come in 2 parts: The clear front and the grey plastic back that fastens to the car and holds the bulbs. The clear fronts are obviously different between MKI and MKII 406s, the new ones being totally clear. Are the backs the same?

  Dear Forum, While under the car, I noticed the front discs are past it, and I need to change them. In the past, I have had great difficulty getting rusted discs off - especially Fords!
