  • Rover 420 front brakes 15 Aug 2006 (Forum)
I examined the front brakes on my car and found the front offside outer pad very thin, the other three pads are still thick. The defective pad being on the outside is not operated by the hydraulic piston but by the stub arms.
  • Child allowed in front seat? 9 Aug 2005 (Forum)
    - Does anyone know if under-12 year olds can travel in the front passenger seat of the car, in Germany? (Even with a child seat fitted and seatbelt on?) I don't think it's allowed in France, and I'm not sure about the UK any more? I'm going on a long run up to Denmark next week and am thinking of driving overnight; my son will have more space up-front.

I have recently purchased a used Toyota Aygo from a local Toyota dealer. The car has 7800 miles and cost me £9,900. It seems to function properly, except...
  • Self driving. - Non skilled driving 1 Nov 2023 (Forum)
But this is not about me, but I do wonder if those who advocate electronic assistance still have the ABILITY to drive ?   It will never happen but, I would love to put those with modern cars that do everything, into an older car where, if the driver does not do it then it aint going to happen.  From forgetting to turn the heater mode to windscreen only and leaving the windows slightly open initially to help clear the windscreen, to the more complicated thing of getting the vehicle at the right speed for the corner, in the right gear.

  • Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec - Unusual hot air/heating problem 12 Aug 2014 (Forum)
At first I planned to swap the heater control valve with an OE replacement, but after running the car for a couple of days now I’ve noticed that the issue is intermittent. Unlike other threads I’ve read on the www where the poster has either permanently hot OR permanently cold air, mine seems to only get stuck on hot half way through my commute to work which is about 10 miles.

  • Honda Jazz - Can I change the brake pads only for front tyre? 22 Jul 2019 (Forum)

  • Any - Do three door cars have bigger front doors? 23 Jan 2013 (Forum)
If this is the case then does Ford have to build different shells for the cars as the pillar will be aligned differently depending on the number of doors the car has? Is it just the Ford Focus that has different sized front doors who do other manufacturers do the same? I’m interested to know if a three door car will be better for me to get in and out of as I’m 6’ 4” and do have trouble of getting in and out.

  • Front Carpets are Wet-Mondeo 96 1.8TD 6 Mar 2007 (Forum)
The front carpets are wet and the car stinks. I initially shampooed everything, dried everything and stuck a bowl of white vinegar in the car to get rid of the smell. Would anyone have any ideas where this water may be coming from?
  • Thanks for the screen wash - car in front 23 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Handy when you get twin plumes of windcreen wash from the car 25 metres or so in front isn`t it? A free screen wash, just flip the wipers on. You almost wish you had set things up like that yourself for the 2 metres from the bumper tail-gators. Of course, a single jet angled from the back washer - like a dog cocking it`s leg - would be just too obvious, I guess..
