It\'s got too much to list, but here\'s some of my favourite bits: Air Con Leccy windows Remote deadlocks and alarm Heated screens and heated power mirrors. CD Player. Just been main dealer serviced and done 10K. I\'m looking for about £6,500ish on a private sale. Blue -
Heat/water problem on 94 Corsa SRi 16 Dec 2002 (Forum)
There is now more yellow gunk in the top cover than before, no noticeable water loss however - and even when i leave the engine running with the car sat still, the needle will not rise to 90, previously it would take about 5 minutes before the temp had risen enough for the fan to kick in. The heater now blows warmish air, but not quite as warm as it used to! -
Do factory-fitted sat navs increase resale value? 23 Jul 2014 (Ask HJ)
I am thinking of buying a new car and want a few extras. A factory-fitted sat nav, built into the dashboard, costs about £1000. However, a TomTom to stick... -
Nearside front tyre wear on an X5 15 Nov 2011 (Ask HJ)
I picked up my used car, a 57 plate X5. It had a steering issue which pulled it to the left. On taking it back to the dealership I was told it was fine.... -
2005 Volkswagen Polo 1.2 E (55) - Front Suspension Creaking 3 Apr 2013 (Forum)
The front suspension is creaking on my car when I go over bumps, potholes etc. Even if I lightly bounce the front end of car myself, it creaks too. It's only started doing it since we had all the snow and a lot of salt has been on the road. -
Vauxhall Astra F (1991 - 1998) - 03 1.4 Front strut top bushes 12 Sep 2008 (Forum)
I changed the front strut top bushes at 80,000 because the front of the car was not sitting level (and I thought I'd change boith sides although only one side was actually causing the prob). The car's now done 124,000 and the left hand top bush has developed some cracks in the rubber insert again. -
Front fog lights and MoT test 16 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Hi all, Could someone please tell me whether the condition of the front foglights is a testable item? I vaguely remember one place (4-ish years ago) failing my car due to a cracked glass, whereas the place I've used for the last two (a different car) have not said anything about both lights being broken! -

Why are engines in the front? 2 Apr 2009 (Forum)
What prompted this - well was out shopping with the family at the weekend, must have had to park in about a dozen different places, I always reverse park in car parks but realised that it would be easier to get into my "boot" if it was at the front rather than the back! -
GM to phase out Android Auto and Apple car play 1 Apr 2023 (Forum)
The aim is to collect data (no doubt to sell to advertisers) and to sell subscriptions. Another attempt to get a steady stream of cash from the users similar to BMW heated seats subscription. No doubt the rest of the manufacturers will watch to see how this goes and whether they should try it too. -
Cars are good for 500,000 miles 26 Apr 2019 (Forum)
I kept it for nearly a year, but decided it was far too big (though it was a SWB) and heavy duty (3.5t) for my needs. Really liked it though, loved the highly adjustable (and very comfy) seat, the truly epic heating/ventilation system, the 'london taxi' steering lock, and looking down on SUV drivers!. -
Vauxhall - Genuine car parts? 16 Feb 2017 (Forum)
Hi all, After having a local garage fit a cheap replacement mirror on the drivers side , I've had problems with the heating element. The mirror just won't clear and after checking the temperatures of both mirrors, the passenger side gets to around 40 degrees where as my side barely reaches 15. It's slightly irritating and I've decided that I'm going to replace the mirror again. -
Mazda MX5 mk2 - MX5 Hardtop Help Please 9 Feb 2017 (Forum)
I have a 2001 Y reg MX5 (mk2) I am trying to get hold of a hard top I have found one very close to home, the price is right and it includes getting it sprayed black to match my car. BUT it has no heated rear window. In such a small car / cabin, does anyone have any knowledge or experience of such a hard top? Will I forever wish I'd held out for a hardtop WITH a HRW or don't I need one? -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 99 2.0 Rear wheel bearing stuck in hub 4 Jan 2010 (Forum)
I cannot get the outer part of the bearing out of the hub. (the car has discs all round) I have tried drifting it out with a suitable sized socket, applying heat and pressing it out using a vice but it wont shift. Any ideas? The really stupid thing is that I have the car immobile on the drive blocking my van in so I cant go anywhere until I get this sorted!! -
Toyota Yaris II/Vitz (2006 - ) - Seat belt safety recall 28 Jan 2009 (Forum)
The move involves all Yaris models built in 2006 and 2007 and is part of a global recall involving 1.3 million cars across the world. Car owners are being told to bring their vehicles in after the problem was identified on a component known as a "seat belt pretensioner" which locks the belt in place. But it was discovered that this part could heat up and set a foam insulating pad alight, running the risk of a fire in a high-speed head-on crash. -
Ford Galaxy (1995 - 2006) - 1997 2.8 V6 heater matrix replacement- 11 Jan 2009 (Forum)
My brother has a R reg Ford Galaxy 2.8 V6 where the heater does not pump out any significant heat and the matrix has been diagnosed as needing replacement. I have changed matrices on Golfs where it is not too bad a job but how difficult is it to do on these? The value of his car is low so it could mean scrapping the car or selling it cheap, but I could do it if it is not too bad... -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - Driver's Door Mirror 6 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Went out to my car this morning to find the driver's side door mirror had been smashed I assume by a passing car. Can anybody give me an idea of work involved to replace or are there any links that could be posted with instructions? -
a breath of fresh air? 7 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Would any backroomers know of any cars which allow you to have warm air coming from most of the heating vents but cold air coming onto your face? The only cars I know that do this are mercedes where the centre console vents give cold air whatever is coming out of the floor and side vents. -
The frost thread 29 Dec 2004 (Forum)
How does everyone deal with really sharp frosts? The last 2 nights around my way the frost was as sharp as any I can remember. My screens on my cars have heated screens but they struggle to cope as only half the elements work. I find a good way of defrosting quickly is slightly open a window then put heater on recycling mode as air must be warmer inside the car than outside. -
Vauxhall Corsa C - Front drive shafts/CV joints 15 Jun 2011 (Forum)
However I took the car for its 9th annual service to the same vauxhall dealer, who informed me that both front drive shafts are worn & noisy and would need replacing asap as there would be a safety risk if the driveshafts failed when the car would be driven at speed.
