  They have been equipped with the following unmarked vehicles:- BMW 535I, - 1 Silver and 1 Dark Green Seat Cordoba 2.0 VTI in Silver Vectra 2.5 SRI - 1 Black & 1 Red Omega 3.0 SRI - 1 Burgundy Volvo S40 T4 - 1 Red Volvo S70 - 1 White VW Bora 2.3 VTI - Red VW Passat VR6 - Silver They will also be using a helicopter between Junctions 4 and 8/9 of the M4 from next Monday for a 2 week period, plus additional mobile speed cameras on bridges around the Maidenhead and Slough Junctions.

  Saw a car this morning(Volvo) being driven into the rising sun - driver had sun-visor up and no sunglasses and a car full of kids.Also saw a car being driven by a woman with a personal plate(on the car).Plate was "COW".

  Not as big as an XM or 9-5, but no smaller than a Focus. Reliability is the biggest criterion. I'm leaning toward Audi and Volvo. Any suggestions? Many Thanks - musang

  Is there any advantage in changing the spark plugs from say WR7DC down to WR6DC or in fact upwards to WR8DC. I am going on a long touring holiday with a Volvo 740 and anything to improve the mpg would not go amiss. Buying another car is not an option. Thanks

  A friend's just bought a top-of-the-range Volvo in which a little LCD pop-up screen on the dashboard top carries not only Sat Nav but also off-air television. This appears to be a piece of original equipment. As it is in full view of the driver, is it legal to use?

  I dont know much about cars so any help is greatly appreciated..please keep it simple. I have a volvo S80. About 4 months ago my wife left the hazard lights on after she had run out of fuel. After a few hours of waiting for help the battery ran out. When she eventually managed to get the fuel, unbeknown to her that the batterry had ran out she tried countless times to start the engine with the result that the engine was flooded with fuel.

  I've been idly taking notice of which cars last the pace, anything before 05 in good condition is of interest. There seem to be plenty of Volvos but I am pleasantly surprised by the number of Peugeot and Renaults running around. VWs are plentiful too.

  Just seen a brand new A4, very nice too, in that dull way that Audis are. But what a size, it was parked next to a Volvo S80 and was at least as big. And Audi do A6s and A8s as well which, presumably, are each a size up again.

  My wife has a Volvo 480 2 litre of 100,000k vintage. It probably needs a cambelt and some attention to some noise from the steering. We have been offered £500 in exchange against a new Polo before haggling starts. Change or keep?

    I'd really like a Golf, but I'd be looking at more like £2000 for the insurance, which I refuse to pay. Current contenders are; Volvo v40 2ltr Diesel, Skoda Fabia 1.9TDI or perhaps a Citroen C4 - all of these seem to be under the £1400 insurance mark which is doable.  If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it!
