Strange recalls 6 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Saw a Vauxhall Chevette today and it reminded me of when my cousin had one and going along the motorway once, the headlamp came off and came through her windscreen! Chevettes subsequently had a recall that involved putting some sort of clip on the headlamp to hold it in place. This clip was actually visible from the outside of the lamp! Any other strange recalls? -

What are the requirements for a "trade terms" sale 29 May 2015 (Forum)
Hi I bought a car from a used car dealer. When we negotiated price I haggled and we agreed £200 less than the windscreen price. Very soon after collecting the car I found out it has a faulty engine. I took the car straight back but they didn't want to know. -
ABS, and EBD 23 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Just a little post to extoll the virtues of these systems, I had cause to use them today whilst turning as I entered a roundabout and saw a car that I had not noticed. It was of course totally my fault, I washed the windscreen at the wrong time and hence didn't see the oncoming car. :-( Anyway, they work brilliantly, the Accord pulled up quickly in mid-turn with a minimum of fuss, to be honest, I think the driver of the other car got the biggest shock as I had been approaching quite quickly. -
BMW 5 Series E39 - Washers not working / Rear door not opening 10 Dec 2016 (Forum)
Hi, just bought this car (1999) and I love it! Two niggles though, The windscreen washer pump is audible but nothing is coming out of the jets. Have had a poke around but nothing obvious. Is it common for the pump to fail but still make a noise as if its working? -
Mercedes C 250 Estate P reg (1997) - Indicators not working 3 Nov 2011 (Forum)
When I got home I played around a little and realised the hazard flasher was dead too, so was the windscreen wiper intermittent position, the two faster speeds worked properly though. Also when I locked the car the indicators flashed as usual. Next morning everything was working fine again so crossing my fingers I hoped it was a one-off. -
Parking fine for using our own bay...!! 1 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Last year we had a disabled parking bay painted outside our house, my wife being a blue badge holder. At the time, the council advised us never to leave the badge in the car when on our own bay because a) so many blue badges get stolen and b) apparantly the personal disabled bays outside a badge holder's house are advisory only and as such are unenforcable. Today, a warden employed by the same council gave me a little yellow 40th birthday present on my windscreen for parking in our own bay without the badge in the car... -
Focus 2003 - 2005 recall 23 Sep 2005 (Forum)
From the News section on the Autotrader website... Ford is recalling nearly 70,000 Focus small family cars and C-Max MPVs for checks on the windscreen wipers. The manufacturer has found that water can work its way into the wiper motor along the arm of the blade. If the water contains salt it can cause the motor to short circuit and leave cars without working wipers. -

Nissan Qashqai, Honda HRV, or... 2 Nov 2014 (Forum)
The seats are too low and slope down. Heat helps my hips, so a heated driver's seat would be great. Removable washable car seat covers would be a bonus. As would a boot without a lip and with a spare tyre. I only got the Civic last year, and my nearest Honda dealership is trying to induce me to get a new CR-V or an HRV. -

Audi A3 Sportback - Admiral - car written off 12 Mar 2016 (Forum)
Last year in October I wS involved in a collision. Without going into too much detail a pedestrian ran out in front of me. He died at the scene. It's been a horrible few months and the police investigation is over. They said there was nothing I could do so no further action. Now they have released the car. An approved garage picked up my car 4 months after the collision. -
Skodas octavia - feels like a flat tyre but isn't. 6 Jan 2018 (Forum)
Left the car a full day to get sorted and when i first drove it, it felt a lot better except for one niggle.... when the steering wheel was centered the car drove to the right and felt like the front left tyre was flat or that the car sat slighty lower on the front left when driving.... i parked the car up checked the tyres and also looked at the car from front on etc... there was no difference in height at all and the tyres were bang on. -
