  • hyundai coupe 2007 - hyundai coupe interior light illumination 17 Oct 2013 (Forum)
The interior switches illuminate blue. Does anyone know if the 5 switches that operate the air con, heated screen rear heated screen and recirculation buttons ( there are 5 in total) at the bottom of the centre console should all light up blue as at the moment only the centre button which is the rear defog button lights up blue, we are not sure if this is a fault or they are all like this.
  • Volkswagen Polo III - 2000/2001 - Horn and Illuminated Heater Controls 6 Dec 2012 (Forum)
Mine has stopped working and the fuse is fine but I can't locate the horn in the engine bay. Also, when driving at night none of my heating controls are illuminated.  Is this how they are or should there be some form of lighting so I can see which control is which?  My rear view deminster and AC buttons are illuminated at night so it's strange that the heating controls are not.
  • 96 Jeep Grand Vherokee - Brakes not releasing 29 Oct 2010 (Forum)
after a short period of driving brakes begin to bind and heat up. Further driving will heat pads and brakes extreme. Pedal moves up and begins to get tight requiring minimal pressure to syop completly, If slowing down at about 5mph brakes will self engage and bring vehicle to a stop then partially release. have tried complete brake bleed and fluid replacement, caliper replace, calip check, replaced proportioning valve, checked master cylinder, replaced ABS, now at a loss for ideas.

  • '03 Nissan Almera door mirror glass 5 Jun 2007 (Forum)
I clipped mirrors, and smashed the glass. The replacement glass had a heating element (the original hadn't), but while I was paying for it the enthusiastic staff fitted it before I had a chance to see how it was done. Full marks to Brookside garage, Cemaes bay, Anglesey. Now I'm thinking I could probably pick up the wiring for the mirror heater in the loom (It comes on with the heated rear window), but how do I remove the glass without breaking it.

  • BMW reliability 15 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Speaking to BMW service manager his view is that BMW electronics find life tough due to the heat and dust of the middle east, which is a fair point but are cars not made these day for all geographies? It seems to me that these cars are only made for the average environment and if you live and drive these cars in extreme heat or cold then you should expect more faults.

  • when to dispose of a car ? 3 Nov 2005 (Forum)
However, he estimates that it will cost £200 or so to pass its MOT at the end of this month, as it needs a new wheel, two tyres, windscreen, a mirror, and a headlight dipper switch. No doubt the car is worth very little. It runs well but looks shabby. He doesn't have much cash to spare, having young children, but I wonder if it is worth keeping any longer.
  • BMW 530 - Water leak from grommet 16 Feb 2021 (Forum)
My mate has a water leak from a 2 inch grommet entering his car.  The grommet is a blank and too difficult for him to get at as it is behind the engine.  Water is coming down a windscreen drain accumulating behind the grommet and leaking into the footwell   He can get at the grommet from the inside and wants to seal it here PLASTIC to METAL body of the car What would be the best sealant to use?
  • Jensen Interceptor 8 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Hi guys At the Classic Car Show in Birmingham, which was fantastic as usual, I saw a few Interceptors which I adore. On the windscreen of one was a book open at a page with a picture which showed the last Series 3 (I think) leaving the production line.
  • 96' zetec escort electical fault 10 Feb 2003 (Forum)
Hi, my car is already part of another thread to do ith an idle problem, this one concerns an intermitten electrical problem. Apart from these two things the car is fine! This is the problem and it seems to be totally random: sometimes when i try to use the rear windscreen wiper it does not work (the washers do though), instead the fog light & rear screen heater lights come on, at the same time the boot release in the central console stops working too.
  • Mercedes-Benz A-Class - Rear brake discs 26 Oct 2010 (Forum)
At 3 years old with 15 thousand miles on the clock I would expect this car to pass the first MOT without major failure. My car failed due to badly corroded rear brake discs. This car had been serviced each year by the supplying dealership and is kept in a heated garage. Could it be the discs are not fit for purpose.
