    2. • Can I sue the council for damaging my car with loose pebbles from badly-surfaced roads? 10 Oct 2010 (Ask HJ)

  • Green fingers 18 Jan 2008 (Forum)
I continued my journey to Sussex having been reassured that the plod who pulled me did not intend to lurk round the corner and pull me again, and came back to London the next day keeping my fingers crossed. Then I took the car to the indy mechanic I use, knowing that it might need a windscreen - there was a ten-inch crack on the passenger side - and a bit of welding on one of the sills. Got the windscreen from not-Autoglass for about half the autoglass price, less indeed.
  • Is flushing the aircon system to 'kill bacteria' just a sales ploy? 9 Sep 2017 (Ask HJ)
I was advised that the aircon in my wife's DS3 would need to be flushed to kill the bacteria in the system. Is this a sales ploy? The car had a pollen...

  • VW Bora 2001 Water ingress 12 Jan 2006 (Forum)
Fire-resistant fabric is very wet. I sloshed water over the windscreen and then checked inside. The water comes through very quickly into the cabin. My thoughts on the source are: 1) Possible blocked drainage causing backup of water 2) Pollen filter / cover(I know this is a common fault) 3) Windscreen seal failure - although it's the original screen Any thoughts on how I can proceed with determining the point of entry and any other sources of the leak?

  • Mercedes B class 180d AMG - Quick review. 17 Feb 2018 (Forum)
The autobraking was far too sensitive and I don’t want constant warnings about being too close to the vehicle in front, if a car pulls out in front of me I can hardly help it! I didn’t like the the ‘ipad’ style screen when the car was launched and having tried to live with it its a pain. Its position means the climate controls are now very low down behind the gearstick and the buttons are tiny.
  • Jeep Renegade PHEV - Test Drive 20 Mar 2023 (Forum)
Snobs and techies are unlike to enjoy the interior which is pretty plain and functional.  The 'infotainment' is small and low down, but you don't have to use it for heating etc, so you can just ignore it.
