  Hello everyone,  I live in Belgium and I recently bought a BMW 7 Series E38 at an auction. The car had no paper present (no conformity certificate, no logbook, ..) but I learned it was a UK car before, registered in the UK.  Do you know how I could get for example a copy of the V5C logbook of the car and the conformity certificate ?

  So, my BMW specialist has identified the crunching sound I get in second gear (6 speed manual). Its apparently the sycnhro and I cant find a replacement anywhere (neither can he). But I have found a whole rebuilt gearbox at a good price (compared to others).

  Hi, Is anyone else finding that the over the air map updates aren't happening on their Professional sat nav? BMW are telling me that "a ticket has been raised" and that they don't have any idea when a fit will happen - the complaints department are saying "possibly some time next year". I've been told to do usb updates but am pretty put out as I'm paying more for the ota ones.

  Last week I bought a 2009 BMW 1 series. At the weekend I noticed the nearside front door has had an extensive repair, not only that but the repair has been very badly done - The line of the repair is not straight, there is rippling where the filler is uneven, there are sanding and scoring marks and places where it's been badly rubbed down and finished and there is a paint run.

  Having written off my BMW 530 D Manual I am now trying to decide which of the above to choose. The 2002Touring 525 D has 150K and is going for £2250 and is one owner with a full independent service record. The 07 Mercedes is the Estate Avantgarde with 125 K and all the extras including crushed leather seats sunroof etc. and is estimated at £6K by the person selling it.

    Seems this incredible twin turbo rocket is out of most people's pocket but fortunately the local BMW place has given me a very good deal on it so I am not over disturbed.
• BMW 120d sport, step auto - Turbo actuator failure 23 Nov 2011 (Forum)
  As several versions of turbo are fitted to this model, the only way to find out which part is needed is to remove the old turbo (the part number is inside). I am told that BMW could provide this information but that they will not unless they are doing the work. As the cost is about 1000 plus fitting plus VAT, is there a way I can reduce the the cost?

  I have just purchased a 2007 BMW as above with 32K on the clock;  when I stop in "drive" at say traffic lights the car starts to move about like the engine is misfiring or somebody is pushing the car from side to side, if I put it in "neutral" it stops.

  Hi all, I need all of your advise. My bmw E46 's front coil spring snapped, I would like to know the reason for that. I have got a warranty on my car but the insurance company insisted that the snap was due to the cold weather. I am no expert in car.

  My sisters 2002 bmw 320td compact has lost all power the turbo seems to be working but its sounds like its blowing the air out a hole on the pipe rater than into the inlet but i cant find any leaks and it doesnt make the blowing out noise wen just reving the car only does it under the load of driving, plus wen reving the car it will leave the groung sooty as if its getting excess fuel, any hely or info would be of great help, cheers

  Can anyone tell me the procedure for bleeding a BMW diesel ? Any time the car runs into reserve it is almost impossible to restart. When looking at the supply pipe the the diesel can be seen running In "globs " for want of a better word. If I do manage to restart the car it drives perfect.

  Hi everybody, I have a problem with my BMW 318ci, the horn does not appear to be working, have checked the relay which appears to click everytime the button is pressed and the fuses appear to be alright. Went to my mechanic who seems to think it is the horn, and asked to replace it, however the car has two horn's, surely they cannot both have become faulty.

  a family friend has a bmw 323 auto (about R reg {That'll be about 1998 then?} ) and it needs dampers i will offer to do it if its straightforward is there anything tricky that might catch me out? any special tools i might need?

  hi i am getting a fuel smell from inside the cabin ,this only happens sometimes and varies i,e i can drive all day without any smell and then it will start, has anybody got experience with this on e39 bmws mines is a 530 sport, my car is 1 owner and has done 82k, i dont know wheter i should change fuel pressure regulatars or leads as a precaution, are there any particular fuel loss related problems with these cars

  Chaps I would be grateful for some advice please. We have a 2006 BMW 1 series and we have noticed over the last few days that the front suspensions squeak when driving over speed humps. This is not noticeable under normal driving conditions and has not affected the handling of the car.
• BMW E46 Roof Bars - missing coded key 5 Jul 2007 (Forum)
  Bit of a long shot this but... A friend of friend gave me a set of roof bars (OEM) for my E46 BMW touring. I was chuffed as they are pricey. His neighbour gave them to him and they've been stuck in his garage for ages - they didn't fit his E36 but perfect for mine. I now realise that a coded key/spanner is needed to tighten them to the roof rails.

  Hi I have got a BMW 316i which has done 65,000 miles. Just recently the coolant light has started to come on in the car followed by the oil lamp light. I have filled up the coolant which works for a few days but it is leaking and requires filling every few days.
