Mercedes Benz C-Class W203 (2000 - 2007) - 03 2.2 won't start after fixing diesel leak 12 Jan 2009 (Forum)
A pal was asked to look at a fuel leak on a neighbours 53 Merc. There was diesel dripping from a hose from the fuel filter where it connects onto a black component at the top of the engine at the front. An o-ring had failed. This was replaced and now the car won't start. -
Rover 75 - diesel engine problem 19 Aug 2003 (Forum)
I own a 2001 Rover 75 2.0 CDT auto. This car uses the BMW 2.0 litre diesel engine. In June this year the engine began running rough on idle and cutting out. The problem became worse and eventually it was diagnosed as a faulty pressure sensor in the high pressure fuel rail. -
Ford Fiesta - 2009 1.6 diesel timing issues 26 Jul 2016 (Forum)
Hi i have just had my timing belt fitted by a mechanic in june 2016 on a diesel 2009 1.6TDCI fiesta. This was done at less than 84,000 Since then the fuel seems to not last as long, although it has been a while since i filled it full to the brim. Due to usage and costs i've been running it on supermarket diesel and generally filling up from empty (fuel light on less than 50 miles) to half a tank. -

Have had 1.5 tanks of diesel since the misfuel incident. I have had the fuel filter replaced (Genuin Citroen) but no change in symptoms. Local garage can't find any fault codes and could not replicate - however it does it regularly for me albe it less often on some routes than others. -
Ford Escort (1993 - 2000) - 97 1.8 Diesel issue 14 Jul 2009 (Forum)
If it was a petrol engine, I'd say I had an intermittent ignition problem, but I'm not all that familiar with diesels. Don't think it would be the fuel distibution pump or an injector, or it would happen more often. Could it be a fuel filter maybe ? Any help or guideance would be much appreciated from you diesel speciallists :-) Good long weekend to all..............englishbullterrier -

Good mid-sized auto diesel 11 Feb 2003 (Forum)
If you want the auto option a lot of cars only seem to have a petrol available e.g. Ford Focus. It horrifies me the effect that some autoboxes have on fuel consumption e.g. Rover 75 1.8 Manual 36.2mpg, 1.8 Auto 30.1 - admittedly petrol but equally bad effect on the derv engine, there must be some which are much better than this. So basically what is a good mid sized diesel auto with reasonable fuel consumption? -

Over supply of fuel 2 Apr 2020 (Forum)
Link from Autocar hope its allowed https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/petrol-stations-may-close-due-low-demand-warns-trade-body With fuel retailers having a oversupply of fuel right not and lots being stuck with (old) petrol and diesel they purchased befor the fall in price of oil could there be a risk of stale petrol? Also it says some fuel retailers will have to close as they're not getting enough customers to keep doors open. -

Diesel Tank At Home 23 Jul 2006 (Forum)

Diesel injectors 31 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Having read most of the threads on diesel emissions, and the use of fuel additive injector cleaners (which I use regularly), I have the following question: If diesel smoke problems are just the result of the injectors, will replacing the injectors eliminate the smoke thus making the engine as clean as it was when it was new ?
