2006 Peugeot 407 2.0HDi 136 auto - Depollution system fault and fuel additive/cleaner 4 Apr 2018 (Forum)
A diagnostic check at a Peugeot dealer cleared the fault code but only pointed the technician to the fuel system in general, nothing specific. It's done just over 64000 miles. Has anyone else had this problem and had it fixed? Also what would be the best one shot fuel system cleaner/additive for me to try, Redex, Wynns etc? -

Eventually traced to charcoal breather filter breaking up and bits of charcoal throughout fuel system. System drained, fuel pump cleaned no problems since. Should this filter be a service item and regularly replaced? -
any - running out of fuel in a tdci vcdi cdti car 6 May 2011 (Forum)
Just having a discussion with some friends and got a service manager from a national chain involved, and in line with my thinking quote "damage to fuel pumps caused by mis-fuelling AND running the pump dry IS NOT covered under warranty." unquote........................ I think that Ford put it in the handbook on new cars, but does anyone else have experience of this. -
Citroen Berlingo Multispace - Fuel pump failure 5 May 2011 (Forum)
I don't believe two fuel pumps can have failed and I'm not sure about the electronics bit. Before my son spends more money on analysis I wonder whether anyone has had a similar problem and had any ideas please? -

Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 01 2.0 Bad Earth to Fuel Injector? 12 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Hi I've had my car in the garage because of a engine warning light. The computer brings up a problem with one of the cylinders, Its not getting fuel or something. The mechanic said he would check the wiring first and tells me its a bad earth and that it has damaged the fuel injector. Now Im an aircraft engineer and I realise that whilst an earth could easily rupture a component but I've also had it where the component has survived. -
Capping diesel price - today's HJ 12 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Am I wrong? One answer might be to cap the tax take as a proportion of the new fuel sale price. HMG is taking much more in fuel tax this year than last. -
Your planning re possible fuel shortage next week 24 Apr 2008 (Forum)
But just in case and for the sake of yet another different topic.......... A multi point question, more about the personal issues around potential fuel supply problems. (given the current shutting down of the Grangemouth refinery and threats by others to make the situation worse) 1) What`s your plan if there are fuel restrictions? 2) What happened last time in 2,000 and will experiences from that mean a different approach? -
Morrisons - fuel prices increased today 7 Mar 2008 (Forum)
On top of that, the free air and water (yes, water) has been replaced by a machine that you now have to pay 20p to use - unless your purchase of fuel is over £15 The car wash is now £2.50 for the basic wash. Just totally pink fluffy dices me off! Rant over! -
Daihatsu Charade (1987 - 1993) - Fuel leak - general info on pipes etc. 29 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Just acquired a Charade GTti and afetr one week it proceeded to deposit most of its fuel tank contents onto my driveway over a period of a few days. I have tracked the leak to a joint between a metal (corroded) pipe and a rubber pipe. Needless to say its in a difficukt to reach spot. -
Mondeo Fuel Gauge and remote C/L 21 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Having solved the problem of my Mondy's inactive temp gauge with a new sender unit I still have a problem with the fuel guage which is showing as full to the brim all the time whether ignition is on or off. I have located the fuel sender unit which has a multiplug connection plus an uninsulated spade connector around the outside of the unit. -
Puegeot 307 hdi fuel economy 12 Oct 2005 (Forum)
(Yeah well - he WOULD say that, wouldn't he - do I look like a dumb blonde?) No offence ladies. My point is - I selected the vehicle for its claimed fuel economy - 30% below expectation is not acceptable. Has anyone else suffered similar expereince or got one of these cars? -
Why do petrol engines... 18 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Reading how engines work on howstuffworks.com didn't shed any light either. I can understand them needing a bit of extra fuel to start but I don't know why extra fuel is needed while the engine is cold. The only possible reason I can come up with is that cold oil has more resistance so you need more fuel & more power for the same amount of work as everything in the engine is battling against thick oil rather than thin runny oil. -
BP Ultimate 25 Oct 2003 (Forum)
As a long-time advocate of Shell Optimax I was keen to try BP's new premium unleaded fuel. In case anyone's interested, I have now done three full tanks of it and the results look extremely good (summarised below). I happen to think that the car *does* run smoother with the higher octane fuel but that is subject enough to be meaningless.
