any - driving in China 25 Feb 2013 (Forum)
In a normal apartment block I was staying in on East Coast , I saw a new Rolls Royce Phantom and no end of latest BMW / Audi models - and these all cost double our prices there. All cars , including MB ML, Landcruisers , Q7, S class , X5 , running on unleaded at about 80p a litre ( no cars ran on diesel at all ) Driving standards are bad. Nobody ever lets anybody out and nobody slows for pedestrians , these can wait 5 mins at marked crossings and then make a run for it Electric scooters drive on pavements at night with their lights off . -

Large(ish) Estate/Hatchback - 3 proper rear seats 4 Sep 2012 (Forum)
I am trying to replace a 53 reg Ford Galaxy that has served us well, but is starting to become expensive to keep on the road. I have looked at various modern equivalents (S Max, New Galaxy, Alhambra) but for various reasons (lack of spare wheel for example) I have not been inspired. Most of the time the car would have 4 passengers (adult + 3 teenagers), but would need to carry 5 in comfort 2 or 3 times per year, on long driving holidays through Europe with dog, and plenty of luggage (we have to use a roof box even with the Galaxy). -
A year with the Jaaaaag 12 Aug 2012 (Forum)
As keen students of the HJ Back Room will know I purchased a Jaguar S-Type last year and was jolly happy about doing so. Having now owned it for just over a year and having recently spent £475 on its newest Police repellent disc I thought I'd share my experiences with the Back Room. -

Next Car Advice/Recommendation... 27 Oct 2011 (Forum)
If you can name it then I’ve probably looked at it, Volvo S40/S60, Ford Focus/Mondeo, Mercedes, Lexus, BMW 3/5, Seat, Honda, Toyota anything in the mid/large hatchback/saloon category I have considered! The last two I was looking at were a Mercedes C Class with 150k and a Lexus IS200 S with 80k, both for around £3,000. I suppose I’m looking for a bit of confirmation of my thinking if anything along with some recommendations for suitable cars in the £3000-£3500 price range. -
1999 Chrysler Voyager 2.5TD,man trans - 1999 Voyager TD loose power at 1900rpm, 1 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Same on my 99 TD voyager,u can feel turbo kicks in about 1700rpm then at about 1900rpm u loose power ,almost as u let up the trottle to almost idle speed, if u move trottle in and out over 1900rpm there is no difference if u have little or full trottle, and engine would run better than this even without turbo pressure at all,in my opinion its the computer who tells the dieselpump to go into modus of lettn trottle out so it dont much power because its something wrong....a sensor or something...same problem here,no reading codes on testequippment, mine was running perfect, then i had battery out to change screw on bracket to fasten batt,i started it again, let it run for a while on idle, saw that i had pushed hose from cranccase off big tube who goes from airfilter to turbo(there is a sensor there to)conected it back on,and drove it,then i noticed this s*** had happend...and headace starts, and all this can be coincedence...... if u loose turbo pressure on pressure side it would be even loss, this problem who we all have is a sudden loss, and it would have been a big whistle someplace thru a crack, but ill check if some vacumline is close to battery as one say in here, since i worked with the battery, could pushed one of or out......but again i think a in order Voyager turbo would run better even if u remove the turbo, then they do with this problem...but again im going to check if something around turbo/vacumlines,etc had another 96(yes not learning.lol) coupple years ago ,same problem, didnt get it solved sold it,and dont know if they ever got it fixed, There is many in here who have EXACTLY the same problem, and there has not come up one single good answer whats real wrong and how to fix it,just lots of this and that, and im blank myself, was hoping someone who realy had fixed the problem had been in here and told.......i think but not sure that guy with turbocrack in line was another problem.......but ill check,it could be a chainreaction who tells sensors this and that,so ill check,if i solve it too,ill be in here and tell, but listen to all opinions...... -
Peugeot 206 1.4L - Clutch/Gearbox problem 13 May 2011 (Forum)
I am also being told that he could have damaged the selector rods from the box to the gear stick when removing the gearbox. I'm not sure how this could cause the problem but then people say 206's do have problems with these rods. Also I'm told he could have put the clutch plate in the wrong way round, but again I'm not sure if this is possible, and if it is would it cause the gear selection and noise problems? -
Seat Leon FR TDI - To replace or not? A diesel dilema 28 Apr 2011 (Forum)
One thing I do want is better comfort than the Leon gives - it's ride is terribly hard: 2010 Volvo C30 T5 R Design (£15k) 2010 Skoda Octavia VRS TFSI (we have had a diesel Octavia in the past so know what I'm dealing with here) (£15k) 2010 Honda Civic Type R (£15k) 2010 Mini Clubman Cooper S (£15K- This would be a leftfield choice for me!) Your advice and comments appreciated... -

Audi merc BMW porsche - A car to suit all needs 5 Mar 2011 (Forum)
Lastly, the Porsche cayenne. The appearance has improved and it looks to be a very sturdy contender, be it the diesel or "S" model. Apologies once again for what is a very broad swathe of questioning, but after two garages (Porsche and Audi) the choice is seemingly harder, and far from impartial when you do ask the sales rep. -

Ford Fiesta (2000 - 2002) - 01 1.25 Heating only works when engine pushed hard 9 Nov 2010 (Forum)
Even when the engine is at optimum temp and I rev it hard once the hot air will come through then go again if I go back to normal driving, so that suggests it?s definitely only working when the engine gets rather hot. I thought that it may have picked up some sort of air pocket so I have run the engine from cold to optimum temp with the reservoir cap off but this has made no difference. -
