Peugeot 607 (2000 - ) - 04 2.2 Getting the battery out 19 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Pal of mine is scratching his head over what seems to be a very simple problem. He has disconnected the battery leads and can't see any obvious clamping mechanism but the battery won't lift out of its housing. It seems to be a tight fit in the housing but something also appears to be holding it in place. Is he missing something? -
Poor tickover-new battery Mazda 626 1 Jun 2006 (Forum)
The battery failed on my Mazda 626 the other day, I replaced it and now she starts and runs well apart from tickover which seems to be lower, you can come upto a junction and the engine will die, shell starts up straight away , but the tickover is now lumpier since the battery change . -

It was n't until evening, when I went to plip the doors from the house, that I realised that my key was missing and it slowly dawned on me that it was still in the ignition. Any of you technical chaps got any thoughts as to why the battery on my brother's 850 T5 keeps running down. It's not old and seems to lose its charge even after a long run on the motorway. The obvious thing to do is to buy another but could it be something else which might damage the new battery ? -

I am using an old multimeter (non electronic display). Starting the engine the meter dips below 10 volts momentarily. Should I get the battery replaced or is there something else I should look at or test first? The voltages seem OK to me, but is the battery marginal? Finally on low revs the car was spluttering a bit, but JUST managed to get the thing home. 1st thought was battery, and as I haven't had a new battery for years I didn't mind replaing it. On checking it, it did seem low on fluid, so guessed the cells were knackered. Bought a new battery and obviously everything worked sweet again, HOWEVER that darn battery charge light is still on, still a very dim/flickering (on high revs) but much brighter and constant on tick over. -
