Why won't my Peugeot 106 1.5 diesel start?

My R-reg Peugeot 106 diesel started playing up. On Tuesday I did about five miles in the car. I got home and switched the engine off, then realised I'd forgotten something so tried to start it back up. The car was turning over but not starting up. I tried to start it a few times but could feel the battery draining. I took the battery out and give it a quick two-hour charge. I put the battery back in and it started straight away. This morning the car wouldn't start again. I noticed that both times the car has failed to start, the glow plug light on the dash hasn't come on.

I think you need a new battery.
