  Estimate: £50,000-60,000 A mass of other Jaguars will go under the hammer, including a 1962 MKII which has had a total refurbishment, with new outer panels and a bare metal repaint, reconditioned engine and a new wiring loom, fuel system, braking system and heating and cooling system. Much of the chrome work has been replaced or restored and the car has a Borg-Warner Type 35 gearbox and Vicarage rack & pinion power steering.

  An 85k mile 04 reg Proton Impian 1.6X with leather looked a better buy to me at £2,550. While top bid for a congestion charge beating 80k mile 03 reg Astra 1.6LS bi-fuel estate was a mere £2,400. I sent a punter along to this particular sale for an 04 reg ex Motability Focus 1.6 automatic, and he had a choice of three, all Zetec 5-doors, all minus Climate Pack and with 14k to 17k miles.

  Old Van Ban Starts to Hit Londoners Hard 1 Jan 2012 (News)
  Turning off an engine and restarting it after a minute or longer causes less pollution than keeping the engine idling and uses less fuel. Larger vans and minibuses were originally due to be included in the Low Emission Zone from 4 October 2010. However, following public consultation, the Mayor decided to defer the introduction in tough economic times to give the owners and operators of the estimated 70,000 non-compliant vehicles, many of which are smaller businesses and charities, more time to make the necessary changes.

  Use the best petrol because that is what your engine is optimised on for the ECDC tests. Use anything less and your car will not perform as well, it will use more fuel, it will emit more CO2 and it could even gum up faster with hydrocarbons. The latest belt cam 1.4TSI 125 and 150ACT are very good, the 150ACT exceptionally so.   Steering clear I bought my wonderful Skoda Yeti TDI five years ago, largely on your recommendation.

  I have decided to stick with diesels. My current diesel is a 2011 VW 2.0TDI, which I assume is EU5. I choose diesel for the good fuel economy (up to an indicated 70mpg), the mega high gearing, and the mid-range torque. Interestingly, the 1954 Jag D-type recently tested had a torque figure of 324Nm, and my VW is 320. How things have changed.
