  I scraped off some bird muck on my windscreen and ended up leaving lots of fine scratches.  Ordinarily I wouldn't be too bothered but these scratches are right in my line of vision so I need to get rid of them. There are plenty of methods on youtube but mainly American and the products some are using are not sold here.

  Need a new windscreen after stone damage but don't want to repeat my last experience with a major supplier. I specifically requested an OE screen but they sent a Chinese copy. Also having it fitted at their depot seems to not be an option any more , so it's on the drive if you have no garage.

  I have seen a focus I want to buy but the quickclear windscreen is "missing" ie it's been replaced with a non quickclear - but the button is there and the spec has comfot pack so it should be there? Would it be possible to replace the screen with a quickclear or will the connection points be damaged by this non QC screen?

  Hi. On my T reg Vectra I have scratches on the windscreen where it looks like the wiper blades have done it somehow. Theres are not small scratches. They look like smears but there not. 1st, what can cause this and second is there anyway I can get these scratches out?

  I don't really want to trade it in (probaly not possible anyway as I'll buy through a broker) and I think I have someone locally who is interested. So your views on the car's value would be gratefully recieved. BMW 318i SE Touring 1998 S reg, metallic green, velour interior, sports suspension, Mtec steering wheel & gear knob, cargo net, heated locks, radio/cd, good condition (one or two small rust patches on front wheel arches),.. and 175,000 miles on the clock I am second owner.

  Some new car models have the wipers positioned north to south in the parked position. This is better than the horizontal position. Dirt accumulates on the blades thus creating scratches on the windscreen. No matter how clean you keep the blades, the dirty rain water traps along the blades, dries and scuffs across the windscreen when in use.

  Just had one of our cars into local garage for welding to exhaust brackets, when picking car up the mechanic uttered those immortal words "I removed your heat shield it's not needed".   Although the car now consistently runs warmer, and is obviously better for the work, still no heat. No apparent leaks from inside the car from the heater matrix. The heater return pipe is very hot, the two input pipes less so.

  I have a slight problem. A couple of weeks ago, I picked up a stone chip to my windscreen whilst driving on the M5. Putting it aside as a slight annoyance, I just lived with it.   I like all sorts of cars-even quirky Citroens. A heated front windscreen'd be good. So not an exacting list of requirements then! I already know a lot about various cars, but it's the details you can't easily get from a spec sheet that I value the back roomer's help for-things like how good is the clutch, are the brakes decent, steering wheel mounted controls for stereo etc.
