     I have a Japanese import and the radio is programmed to get their channels and ours are mainly out of the bandwidth. Halfords will sell me a radio but want £200 to fit it as they say they is a lot to do changing the wiring etc....hmmmm.

  Trying to part ex a 2011 Mondeo which is a German import (but Uk Spec) and dealers are telling me that I should sell privately because they cannot value it the same as a UK car. Why on earth not? Whats different about it in the era of pan european warranties and the single market?

  Does anyone know how to go about importing a used car from Europe. What needs to be done so you can drive it back, how do you register it in the uk, are there any taxes to be paid etc.. Any info would be appreciated.

  I will be selling my imported VW Golf 1.8T in about 6 months time, it will then be 8 months old. I am wondering what it will be worth when I come to sell, will it be significantly less than a UK model? I bought the car in Denmark at a saving of around 5K, will I get a profit?

  Hi, Can someone kindly advise as to the problems and pitfalls of buying a Malta import? The car in question is a Ford Focus 1.0 Zetec spec, the spec seems identical to the UK spec. The price is considerably cheaper than a pre reg UK spec car. What are the pitfalls? Cons? Problems?

  I am back to the backroom again and see that Volvoman is still here popping along...his topic about air-conditioning is interesting. I wondered if most people now consider conditioning essential; how important is it? How much would you pay extra to have said in a good car if it's still an option?

  I have an old-style Ford Focus 1.6 Ghia which I bought as an unregistered import from Motorpoint in 2005 - it is registered on an 05 plate. I recently went to my local Ford dealer to test drive a new Mondeo. When enquiring about my car as a part-ex I was offered £4400 for it & the salesman told me that if it was a UK car I would have been offered £5200 & that this is standard for imports.

  I'm considering importing my next car (as you might have guessed from my contribution to the "New Mini Help" thread). I'm looking for a Ford, but the final spec isn't yet decided. In the FAQs, HJ suggests ringing european dealers (more or less at random) to find out whether they are ready and willing to quote for UK imports.

  I am looking at a used Prius import from a garage but it doesn't flag up on any of the .gov or TFL webpages with a validated Euro class status. Does this mean that I will get pinged if I drive into a clean air zone? I like the look of the car but if it might be an issue for driving into the city' Thanks in Advance

  Is there anyone interested in importing Irish cars that are over 3L? Car tax in Ireland is over €1800 for a 3L and over. I know it's more reasonable in the UK. If anyone is interested let me know. At the minute I have 2 Mercedes S500 Lwb.

  I didn't set out to by an import but was offered a very low price on a new Mazda Atensa (sold here as a Mazda6 TC). Very pleased with the car but it has a really naf radio. Mazda dealer reckons they cannot help. Anyone know of a really knowledgeable radio company in the South East.

• Honda Stream II 2009 (import) - Replacing a unique windscreen 6 Sep 2024 (Forum)
  Unfortunately there is now a crack on the windscreen large enough to require  the whole screen replacing. Honda UK will not help me, beyond supplying a part number. I am enquiring about importing a new screen from Japan (I did successfully  import a door mirror last year) but I have heard something about a glass company in the UK that makes bespoke screens. Has anyone any experience of this service please?

  Has any one had any recent experience of Renault Scenics imported from Cyprus and their specs compared to uk. I am in the market for a Renault Scenic 1.9dci 120 dynamique and am looking at Motorpoint in Derby who import these cars from Cyprus (new delivery miles).
