Honda Accord Tourer (2003 - 2008) - 2005 2.2 Fuel Problems 5 Feb 2009 (Forum)
My 2.2 Diesel Accord has been a right pain, having suffered from Engine management problems for the last year, especially when cold. Earlier this month I had the fuel filter replaced, and everything seemed OK again, however a couple of days ago, the same problem occured, engine management light on and no power to speak of. Took it back to the garage, same problem low fuel pressure, so they looked in the fuel tank, apparantly it was full of black sludge, by full I think they meant there was a considerable amount at the bottom, that was being drawn into the fuel filter. -

Does this stuff (fuel cleaner & injection cleaner) actually work? The stuff you put straight into your petrol tank to clean fuel and to and to make your car run smoother etc. If its any good what one should I buy? Regards, Dave -
All makes - Contaminated Fuel 15 Nov 2019 (Forum)
Rip Off Britain drew attention to the growing problem of water contamination in fuel, both petrol and diesel. Two cases were highlighted , both took place at Supermarkets but they said it could have happened elsewhere. The problem seems to be have been made worse following the introduction of bio in the fuel which causes a by product of water when it mixes with fuel. -

Peugeot 1.4 HDi - Fuel problems 1 Sep 2012 (Forum)
I decided to park overnight facing uphill and the car is very difficult to start. Priming puts fuel into the pipe, but it then runs back out. There is a lot of air in the fuel. Is there a none return valve in the fuel feed? Also does anyone have a diagram for the fuel system pipes as I cannot follow them very easily. -

Hi, Stuck on this one, after leaving the above for a few hours, I find the diesel has drained back to the fuel tank. No leaks underneath either! I have to then manually prime the diesel back to the engine before it will start again. Any ideas, simular problems out there? Before I attempt spending £££ on Fuel filter housing and new £££££ fuel pump? -

Jet Fuel 3 Jan 2006 (Forum)
I have read articles about the quality of various brands of fuel and the whys and wherefores of using the premium versions of some brands, (shell optimax, bp premium, etc) but I have not seen reference to JET fuel brand. I presume that this is better than supermarket fuel as it contains some additives, but can anyone tell me whether this is equal or better than shell, bp, texaco ? -
Peugeot 405 GDR diesil estate - Fuel problems 24 Jul 2012 (Forum)
Hi thereThis car has, until now, been the most reliable that I have ever owned, however it decided to die on me, I thought that pahaps I had run out of fuel, as it was showing low before this and the orange fuel light had come on, so went and bought some more and put it in, however she still will not go, tried priming the filter,( this is bolted to the battery housing, and has a primer on top) but the primer is drawing little or no fuel through, just to make sure that it is a definate fuel starvation problem, I filled the rubber inlet pipe from the filter to the engine manually, and she fired up right away, this morning, i took off the filter unit, and it had some fuel in it, but not full, I am now at the stage where I am left with the fuel pipe sticking up, but not going to anywhere, I flattened the battery whilst trying various things, so have now taken it off and put it on charge. As a chef I am not the best mechanic, however I can turn my hands to most things, I just wanted to ask, when I re connect the battery, and turn the engine should I see fuel being pumped up through the fuel pipe...? -

All - New Fuel 3 Sep 2021 (Forum)
Hello One and all, I went into a supermarket for a well known supermarket, as I go in there every day to fill up before parking the truck .. I asked how much they will be selling the new fuel for. I was told £1.40 per litre, £6.36 per gallion. ( 4.54609 x £1.40 ) I ask all of you to go to your local fueling point and ask them what they are going to charge for this new fuel and post it on here. -
Any - Costco Fuel 29 Sep 2019 (Forum)
Not wanting to start another supermarket vs branded fuel debate, but I’ve just fuelled up at Costco for 123.7 per litre for their Premium Diesel. I’ve no idea if there is a legal definition of what is premium so far as fuel is concerned, but it’s still 4p per litre cheaper than my regular Tesco diesel. -
Kia rio - Fuel economy takes a hit after servicing 21 Mar 2010 (Forum)
I was wondering if other diesel drivers have noticed that after a service the fuel economy takes a hit. I would imagine that the oil has better lubriacting properties after it has carbonised a bit and that the new fuel filter would have an initial bit of resistance to fuel flow. -
fuel gauges on LPG car. Vaux Astra 25 Sep 2009 (Forum)
I have a astra with LPG conversion today when I filled it up with lpg, the gauge when runing on LPG still shows the level where it was before i filled up. When runing on petrol the fuel gauge is fine. Does any one know if the fuel gauges in the lpg tank are pressure sensors or normal type fuel gauges and hence may just be stuck, Any ideas Thanks -
Nissan Micra (1992 - 2003) - How important is the brand of fuel? 4 Jul 2008 (Forum)
My trusty Micra is not the coolest wheels, but the fuel economy is up there with the best diesels. I saw this clip on YouTube today and it got thinking about making my fuel go further (great CGI btw!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiDgDzjFBRM Any thoughts out there about whether fuel quality changes across the brands? -
Nissan Primera III ('99-'02) Fuel Gauge 4 Apr 2006 (Forum)
The fuel gauge normally shows a totally incorrect reading, and I use the odometer to give me an idea of the level in the tank. I changed the fuel sender/float in the fuel tank but this has made no difference.
