Drink and Drug Drive Campaign 11 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Inspector Viv Brenchley, commander of Leicestershire Constabulary's Road Policing Unit, said: "Last year 27 collisions occurred over the Christmas period in Leicestershire as a result of drink driving. Any alcohol can affect your ability to drive, impairing your reaction time and your ability to judge both speed and distance. Drivers should always be aware that alcohol takes effect quickly but wears off slowly - so even if you don't drive until the next morning after a night out, your driving can still be impaired. -

1959 Male - Cataract operation how long till I can drive? 27 Jul 2017 (Forum)
I had a cataract operation 2 days ago on my right eye. I regard my vision in this eye as excellent now and I could easily pass any driving related sight test. My left eye has recently been tested and it passed the driving standard. I can see lots of information on the net saying it is ok to drive the next day after an op if you can satisfy the driving standard. -

Minibus - who can drive it? 29 Apr 2005 (Forum)
Hello all, The posse and I are going on a little expedition next month and are going to need a minibus. The original plan was for me to drive but I think I'm too young. I'm told 21 is the minimum age. Now only one of the group is 21 so she would need to drive it. I can't make head nor tail of the DVLA website (no I'm not looking at the Welsh version) so I wonder if anyone could help me: 1) Is she ok to drive a minubus aged 21? -
Convictions 18 Feb 2003 (Forum)
"Nearly everyone has one conviction, or will have by the end of 2003". I don't intend this to sound smug, but I haven't had a conviction in 25 years of driving. Am I really in such a minority? I would add that I regularly drive at 80-85mph on motorways when safe to do so but rarely, in my opinion, drive dangerously. Neither do I drink and drive, drive through red lights, drive uninsured or do any of the other things that get noticed by plod. -

Physical Fitness and driving 5 Feb 2016 (Forum)
There a many books on physical fitness in general : does anyone know if there is anything available where advice is given on maintaining and improving fitness specifically related to driving. Too many times I've seen drivers who would appear to phsically struggle with the demands of driving. This is with people of all ages. -

driving assessment 17 Jul 2008 (Forum)

Not in the market for a car, just had the opportunity to drive both this week. Usually just get to drive the Focus. Unfortunately the Volvo was rather disappointing to drive, better just to sit in and listen to the posh Harman Kardon stereo. -
Arround School Zones Keep Driving Safe 2 Mar 2012 (Forum)
You should stay in your seat and avoid pushing and shoving. Teen drivers should take extra precautions while driving to school and back. Talking and texting on the cell phone while driving should be strictly prohibited. Any type of earphones should not be used while driving. A very simple and important safety driving tip is to remember to pay full attention. -
Child of Our Time - driving test 7 Feb 2006 (Forum)
If anyone else didn't see this is was an excellent example of how it is impossible to drive safely and undertake a detailed thought process at the same time i.e. when trying to drive and use a mobile. A police driving instructor was shown driving through a slalom of cones - carried out perfectly. -
"Driving other cars" extension 25 Nov 2001 (Forum)
My dear wife recently bought a Mondeo and we still have her Volvo 340 parked in the drive, taxed and tested. My own insurance policy covers me to drive other cars on a third party only basis and I asked the insurance company if I could drive the 340 under this insurance. I was concerned that they may say that, as it was my wife? -
