GOLF 2L MARK4 GTI - CUTTING OUT WHEN SLOWING OR STOPPING 5 Feb 2011 (Forum)
Hi everyone My golf keeps cutting out when i slow or stop and is very lumpy when idling and sometimes also cuts out when idling i have replaced within the last month as follows spark plugs and leads, oil and filter, i cleaned the throttle butterfly, air mass meter, collant temp sender, and both lambda sensors (very expensive) this just started yesterday after i changed the leads again because i felt like there was a miss and i brought the last set of leads of ebay (never agan) and sometimes when i turn a corner the oil pressure warning light comes on plus i was getting a clicking from the engine somewhere i read this could be that the oil needed topping up so i did and the clicking went and also the warning light stop coming on but i keeps happening so i top up and stops again (bit worried about this as there is not an oil leak anywhere) please can anybody help me with any of these problems Thanks -
Daewoo matiz chugging? 11 Jan 2007 (Forum)
This morning for the first couple of miles the same fault appeared, and it has been fine since, Today i got a new dissi cap. rotor arm, and h.t. leads including the one from the coil. The suppier sold me the wrong cap and rotor arm so i have only replaced the h.t. leads at this time, and the one from the coil. If the fault re-appears has any-one any suggestions as to what it may be. -
basic car stereo questions 9 Aug 2003 (Forum)
I have been advised to connect the two front channels to a tweeter and a 3 way unit each in parallel but I have also read that this could lead to blown final stage transistors. I have also been advised to connect the two front channels to a tweeter and a 3 way unit each in series but I have also read that this might lead to problems as the speakers connected in series will have passive crossovers wired in them and conneting in series would lead to frequency confusion at both speakers. -

2005 Ford Focus 1.6 - core plugs leaking on cylinder head 20 May 2013 (Forum)
I know about the problem regarding the washers leaking onto the valve cover, but after fully drying the head, plugs and leads, this car ran like a sewing machine for 5 or so minutes then started to misfire. I removed No.3 lead and found water in this side again. It does look as though the core plug is leaking. Are these normal press fit core plugs or are they threaded? -

Corsa Stereo Connections 15 May 2010 (Forum)
Also if (and when) I do find the correct connection, how do I change the pins in the sony lead - they seem to be stuck fairly tight and no amount of pulling with pliers works. All help / advice warmly welcomed. -
Jeep Cherokee (1993 - 2001) - 95 2.5 Won't start 4 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Have traced the problem to the distributor, changed cap and arm but it appears that the problem is on the lt side. Lots of welly from the coil, big sparks, but no welly through the cap to the ht leads. changed all leads, but no difference. Traced 3 wires to the dizzy, black w/ purple +11 volts with ignition on and 2 orange w/black which seem to do nothing any suggestions would be most gratefully received. -
Citroen AX starting anomaly 14 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Leave it overnight and you are back to square one, the things I have changed to try and cure it are the HT leads, distributor cap and rotor arm and they made no change at all. Jump leads make no difference either. Any clues on this please ? Thanks for taking the time to read this. Regards, Steve D. -
Michelin @ Indy - Volume 2 2 Jul 2005 (Forum)
When asked what he thought of Danica Patrick, who had this year achieved national acclaim by becoming the first female to lead the Indy 500 before finishing fourth, he replied, "Women should be dressed in white, like all domestic appliances" His ready wit has has gone down like a lead balloon in the land of the free. -
Fiesta 1.25 misfire 13 Dec 2001 (Forum)
It seems fine on the motorway. The plugs were replaced 15,000 miles ago with Motorcraft platinum and the original HT leads are still fitted. Do you think it may be poor quality leads which need replacing? I think it could be an air leak or very weak mixture causing the 'kangaroo' effect at low speed. Either way I need to get it sorted out as I am worried about cat damage through the misfiring. -

Logical diagnosis and guessing. 7 Jan 2002 (Forum)
The exchange between KB and Kev on the Jump Leads thread made me think of the several phone calls from a customer over the past few days. All I was saying on the jump lead thread was that the cheap leads are often so poor at passing current they will not enable the start, particularly of a larger or diesel engine. -
