BMW (F10) 5 series lead time

I ordered a BMW 520d SE with BMW Leicester in the first week of August. The estimated delivery was for 30th September. Called the garage and they cannot specify a date now, citing production delay in BMW factory. Apparently the car is in very high demand. The car I ordered is not of 'unusual' spec but has quite a few optional extra items. I have sold my car in good faith that the estimated delivery would be met. The dealer seems quite indifferent.

The dealer can't do anything and in UK law is not liable for anything outside his control. It would not surprise me if, because BMW gets more Euros for its cars sold in the Eurozone than it does for cars converted to RHD and sold in the UK, its Eurozone markets get precedence. This also seems to be true of VAG.
