Ford Fiesta 2006 - No-Fault claim advice required 9 Jul 2016 (Forum)
My daily workhorse Ford Fiesta was damaged while parked unattended on the street by a driver who reversed into the O/S/R door and ran off. Long story, I got some witnesses and reported the incident to my insurer, TP insurer and police. TP denied fault at the time and their insurance asked for my evidence. Very rude insurers. -

Nissan Almera - Almera Gearbox 18 Oct 2015 (Forum)
The Nissan Almera 1.5 S, N16 petrol is a well designed strong motor together with a strong trouble free manual gearbox. I have worked as a trained mechanic for 25 years in a main Nissan dealership. Many people don't realise that you need to change the gear box oil every 50 - 70,ooo miles. -
Need a car with high seating. 12 Sep 2015 (Forum)
Having looked at what is on offer I have narrowed my choices down to:- My favorite - Ford galaxy/s-max 2.0 diesel. Trouble is for my budget I am looking at cars with 100k+ miles on the clock. Would like the titanium because it comes with cruise control. New shape Mazda 5. Did have one when they came out, a 1.8 petrol. -

Alarm bells ringing. Can anyone reassure? 12 Jun 2015 (Forum)
logcode=p I've called up the bloke, and he seems to prefer cash, when I suggested making payment via debt he said I could transfer the money. I've done a little bit of digging and can't find anything on google that leads to S&H motors. However when googling his number it leads to more autotrader adverts under the trading name of H&T cars (All the same distance away from me). The post code he text me just shows a random street. -
Citroen Berlingo Multispace 1.9 IDI - Rough Starting 2 Jun 2015 (Forum)
I f it had displayed the symptom spontaneously I’d have said glow plug(s) not right or, if not, air in fuel. Plugs were tested and pronounced OK for circuit, resistance and timing. Observation on start up showed small air bubbles passing down line filter to pump in second after start but not necessarily coincident with roughness. -

I am currently in the process of finding ten steadfast souls to join a syndicate, with majority agreement on which game to tackle. If it`s the Lotto then it will be conducted using their own syndicate format which can be operated to contain a legally binding component.Maybe the lotto is the place to start until we get a few wins under our belts? -
Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - 1.9CDTI Engine Build Quality 30 May 2014 (Forum)
The drive gear is the type of component that one might reasonably expect to remain sound even as the car is sent to the crusher after many, many years of service. Any thoughts as to GM`s level of responsibility on this one? This car is now only just three and a half years old and vital components (non-service items) are literally falling apart or going into holes !!!! Any input welcome, Steve Grove. -
Citroen DS3, Abarth 500, Seat Leon SC - Difficult choices 28 Apr 2014 (Forum)
Its darn difficult to choose a new car these days. We're currently looking to replace our "fun" ride, a Mini Cooper S, which after 7 years is starting to have too many (minor) problems cropping up to stay. We've been looking at the sector and settled on a choice of 3 models (not necessarily the obvious ones). Our first test was in an Abarth 500 which put a terrific smile on our faces, the sound track is exactly what we were looking for and the ride and handling fitted the brief very well, so simple choice then, we get the Abarth. -

Fiesta 2003 1.4TDCi - Ford Fiesta dipstick snaps 1 Apr 2014 (Forum)
The mistake I made was slightly turning the dipstick inside the tube. The bottom end of the tube inside the sump has two bends in it like a slightly flattend out 'S'. Unusually compared with other engines, this tube is longer than the dipstick and the part that broke off was stuck inside the bottom end of the dipstick tube in the last bend. This meant it couldn't get into the engine (not a chance I would take even now knowing this) but also I couldn't check the oil level. -
