  • A Grand Monday: Ford Mondeo 31 Jul 2017 (News)
.  But suddenly, they all seem to have disappeared from our roads, victims of a descent into banger territory, be that as run-on-a-shoestring family hacks, or going out in a blaze of glory on the oval.  Here, then, is a rare one-owner survivor .

A 600cc Honda motorcycle engine provides the get-up-and-go for this madcap machine.

  • A Grand Monday: Vauxhall Vectra 28 Nov 2016 (News)
Rather than spend its life being thrashed up and down motorways, or acquiring sticky stains on the school run, it has had a mollycoddled existence. And as a result, there can't be many Mk1 Vectras left in as good condition. For a few quid short of a grand (and we reckon there's room to haggle) this is one of those cars that, if you buy now, will be something of a curio in the really quite near future.
  • A Grand Monday: Fiat Cinquecento 7 Nov 2016 (News)
At £450, we reckon this has the potential to be an absolute bargain – the Cinquecento’s appeal will surely soon catch on, in common with all small Fiats before it, so this is a sure-fire on-the-cusp classic that really deserves to be preserved. Its low running costs also make it an ideal first classic, especially for younger drivers.
  • A Grand Monday: Renault 11 Broadway 5 Sep 2016 (News)
But it's also the name of a rather basic special edition of Renault’s fair-to-middling 1980s mid-sizers… The Renault 9 and 11 ’Broadway’ models were introduced in 1986 as a run-out special, ahead of the humdrum hatch and staid saloon’s mid-life facelift, which brought in an angular new nose and more plush interiors. And here’s a rare survivor. This 1986 Renault 11 Broadway has been off the road for years, as it comes from a deceased estate.

Legend has it that the limited run of 502 cars were sold pre-launch, possibly being squirrelled away by international car collectors. The bitter rivalry between BMW and Mercedes-Benz in saloon car racing at the time throughout Europe helped hone the greatest touring cars of the era.

  • Wheeler Dealers back in May 31 Mar 2016 (News)
In the Wheeler Dealer workshop, Edd casts his expert eye over each car and transforms them into safe, saleable runners, tackling bodywork, paint, mechanics, electrics and performance upgrades. Of course, this doesn't always run smoothly as Edd is forced to work on cars that are often decades old, and where Mike’s desire to score profit has increased the risk of mechanical trouble. In the new series, the boys get eco-friendly with the original CVCC powered 1977 Honda Civic; rescue a neglected and extremely rusty Land Rover series IIa; transform a gigantic Hummer H1 into the ultimate camping accessory; and put some performance into an emasculated 1988 Ford Mustang 5.0.
