  On holiday in France and a long way from home.  Hot so used air con for 1st time in 3 years.  stopped at lay by and noticed water (pure, no additives, I tasted it ) leaking from bulkhead area.  checked hoses, all seems OK.  Radiator level also OK.

  Hello A friend has just aquired a 2007 hyundai coupe. The interior switches illuminate blue. Does anyone know if the 5 switches that operate the air con, heated screen rear heated screen and recirculation buttons ( there are 5 in total) at the bottom of the centre console should all light up blue as at the moment only the centre button which is the rear defog button lights up blue, we are not sure if this is a fault or they are all like this.

  hi hope someone can help me want to replace drivebelt on mark 1 peugeot 406 1.9 diesel with air con having trouble getting allen key bit on tensioner bolt  pipes etc in way can u getaway without removing pipes cant get ratchet in space etc i think these are the oil cooler pipes if so how do u remove them any help much appreciated thanks dave

  Is this a fan problem or a problem with the position dial, i am wondering if there is a blockage somewhere..if I select feet, face, screeen and so on..there is flow but very, very little. It is the air con model...that definitely needs a regas or it is knackered.   Thanks

  Bought a 51 plate Laguna 2 days ago. Only thing I can find wrong is the light that lights up the display for the fan/air con etc looks like it may have a loose conection. When the panel is pressed hard the light will show for a second then go off again.Before I start trying to into the back of it and break something, does this sound like an easy thing to fix?

  1997 Fiesta 1.25 Zetec Power Steering No air con What is the fan belt routing? Amazingly Haynes dont cover this (How do they keep going?) There are six pulleys clockwise from top front: Generator PS Crankshaft Water pump Tensioner Idler I can see the logical route, with exceptions: Does water pump use the smooth side of the belt Idler at top, does the belt go over or under?

  Bought a Alfa 156 1.8 TS, it is a great car but needed its cam belt doing so booked it nto a local garage, it went in doing 30mpg around town came out doing 22 The garage deny they did the timing wrong The car runs great, no flat spots. I do not drive it hard and use the air con only occasionally/rarely Anyone with ideas what it may be? Car is a 2003 model reg in 2003

  Helo...can anyone tell me what the switch on my dashboard is that has a circle with a T in the middle and an M on the side of the circle ? It is to the right of the air con switch and the owners manual has the switch for the Hyrdactive suspension in the same place but in the manual the symbol on the switch is different with no letters, just a symbol which looks a bit like a spring.

  hi i have a petrol 406 with air con and had a big stop light come on yesterday. took it to the dealer who ran it and told me the head gasket might have gone, radiator leaking and colling fan not working. however i put oil in it and thats ok but now my temp guage goes over 90 when doing only 3 miles.

  Dealer's offer: £2,500 for my car and £3k on top for the Colt. The Colt has parking sensors (which I don't particularly want!) and air con (which I do want). The Colt was on for £6495, deal effectively makes the Colt worth £5495. Good deal or not a good deal? Comments please. I'm thinking of haggling for the £185 service package to be thrown in for free also.

  Brought a 2.0d jaguar estate in April. Everything seems find(except for a noisy air con unit). I now have two small faults, rear door won't lock and now windscreen washer is not working. Pump seems to be working, and despite clearing pipes and blowing down main pipe till water bubbles out of reservoir it is still not working.

  I have spied locally a 2006(well registered anyway) MG ZR 105+. It has full electric pack, air con, leather, FSH and 20K miles for £3600. I think the dealer is closing down. I already have a TF and this will replace our ageing 214, so no stranger to MGR. Is it worth a chance on it? Will only be a stop gap until we get a MINI in 18 months or so?

  Hi, I am currently looking for 3 x small 5 door Diesels in Band B with Air Con to replace our work Fiesta's. Everywhere is quoting 8-12 weeks, which is after our Fiestas are due Major services and MOT's. Anyone have any ideas who has UK stock in the North east? Any clues?

  I have repeat of a previous small problem with my '02 Mondeo TDCi Ghia X, that of the high speed fan cycling on and off quickly when in traffic with the the air con / climate switched on. Please see the following thread: http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=31988 This was previously solved via a new fan resistor and has been OK for over a year, could the resistor simply have failed again or should I also check elsewhere?

  I have inspected the door seal and there no signs of a leak, the car has never been involved in an accident, and all other areas of the car remain dry. A friend has suggested it may have something to do with the air-con heater outlet beneath the seat. But if so, why would the problem not occur with other heater outlets? Any ideas appreciated.

  Sold for the asking price on Thursday night with 3 others wanting to come and see it on Friday / Saturday if it wasn't sold. I was completely honest with any faults (e.g. air con) and the fact that I've done the servicing for the last couple of years. The buyer told me how reliable Peugeot diesels are (conrods?) before handing over a big wad of £20s. Obviously not a backroomer.

  Very little in the way of creature comforts of course but if you only need a car that gets you from a to b this seems a brilliant concept. Just think what can't go wrong....electric windows and sunroof,air con,power steering, etc etc. Of course it is not to be sold here as the Twingo wasn't, what a shame: Iwould have my name on the list presto.

  what is it with volvo and air con systems?? ive just had the evaporator replaced under warranty in my v70 the same problem arose with a 850 i owned previously, talking to the dealer who carried out the repair he reckons a 4 year life is average, outragaeous in a car costing 30k surely its not beyond the wit of volvo to manufacture the damn things out of decent material?
