Motorists stand to save as much as £10 a month on fuel following a new round of price cuts at the forecourt. Based on a Nissan Qashqai 1.2 DIG-T, a typical owner covering 10,000 miles per year will save around £10 per month compared to the summer. In July the average cost of petrol was 131 pence-per-litre, but following a dramatic fall in the price of crude oil the current average price of unleaded is 116 pence-per-litre. -

The existing record was set in a factory prepared 3.5-litre Range Rover when Brigadier John Hemsley completed the journey 14 days. In contrast, Philip Young and Paul Brace's car is an 85bhp Fiat Panda TwinAir, and it will be receiving a small number of rally-spec modifications to cope with the challenging conditions in Africa. The pair will need to cover almost 1000 miles per day to remain on track. -

Triumph TR250 takes on Trans-America challenge 20 Jun 2018 (News)
A 1968 Triumph TR250 driven by long time endurance rally campaigners David and Jo Roberts has won the Trans-America Challenge. With around 35 crews entered, the top three cars battled it out from the start line in Charleston, North Carolina, to the finish in Seattle, Washington over 22 days, covering over 9,360kms. Yorkshire husband and wife team David and Jo are veterans of the Endurance Rally Association's events. -

Every car is individually test driven before being sifned off. In the UK records show that the first 6,160 vehicles registered in 2007 and their owners have benefitted from that warranty. The average claim count during the seven year cover has been just over three per vehicle with only 411 vehicles having exceeded the mileage restriction of 100,000 miles and only 648 vehicles having had no claims whatsoever during the seven year period. -

Young drivers offered free safety training by Ford 1 Sep 2014 (News)
The practical training will take place on private roads, with AA driving instructors in Ford Fiestas; however Ford has stressed that there will be no commercial pressure on pupils to buy cars. Ford has invested more than £1.2 million in the scheme and helped more than 5000 young drivers. The 2014 programme will start in Scotland at the Silverburn Shopping Centre in Glasgow from 18 to 20 September.
