• Volvo 240 MOT failure: Please explain 24 Nov 2006 (Forum)
  My Volvo 240 SE (1992) has just failed its MOT. I don't understand all the failure points and I would welcome any more expert help. (1) Offside front position lamp(s) not in good working order (function impaired) [1.1.4a] As far as I can see, both headlamps are working perfectly.

  A mate of mine has a 1999 Volvo V70 Estate Auto with the 2.5 10v engine. Recently it has developed a brake problem. Over the last week the brake pedal travel has increased, yet the car stops safely. We have checked the following; disc and pad thickness and DTV - all are text book and the pads have plenty of meat left on them, all flexible hoses are sound and are NOT ballooning up when brake pedal is pressed.

  Hi, I've had problems with a Volvo D5, story is in Discussion. I've now heard from the dealer who is unsure as to what the situation is. Basically I had problems starting, to the extent the car wouldn't start. They swapped the Fuel pump and gave the car back.

  The result is that pronounced knee recess is somewhat saggy on that side, and I am fearful of tearing the stitching over time if the pocket is used. By tipping the seat backrest completely forwards (easy with the latch that Volvo so thoughtfully provided), I can see that the leather seams are stapled together at the bottom, but still worry that unless the seat back is replaced (which I don\'t want for reasons of matching and waste), the problem is likely to be made worse by attempted repair, not better.
