Vauxhall Astra Head Gasket problem 23 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Hello all, I bought a automatic X-reg Vauxhall Astra from an independent dealer back in March which included a 3 month warranty from the garage. Unfortunately today the head gasket has gone, I know nothing about cars so don't know if this is something that I've done or could've prevented but it's too late now anyway! My question is, I've only driven approx 1000 miles in it since I've had it, I literally use it to drive to the station and back everyday so has very little use. -
Volvo XC90 2008 - 44k engine blown - Mapfre Warranty not paying 14 Dec 2020 (Forum)
We have done what the warranty company require in terms of preventative maintenance, and no warning lights or other indications were given before the incident. As soon as any "odd noises" were heard we took the car to the garage. -
Renault - Timing Belt Failures 26 Dec 2007 (Forum)
If my experience can help make people aware and so avoid this problem then my post has been worth it. PS : Japanese car-makers are moving over to using timing-chains instead. Aiming for 70% of new cars by the end of 2005! Say no more! -
Ropey Toyota 11 May 2007 (Forum)
I'm writing to Toyota in the vague hope they'll extend the warranty after all the hassle this car has caused, because if they don't I'm selling it before the warranty runs out and it becomes a potential liability One positive note - the dealership have been helpful and friendly - must be used to dealing with lemons (the cars, not me!) -

Ssangyong developments 13 Aug 2018 (Forum)
Informed they are working on a new 1.5 petrol turbo that should make its way into most of the UK line up by the end of 2019. A new 1.2 turbo petrol is also under going testing and will be used from 2019 in the new facelift Tivoli As for the new Musso, that’s a hell of a lot of car and warranty for the money -

Car supermarket pricing 23 Jun 2001 (Forum)
Is there ANY room for manoevre on/in these prices. Looking to buy used @ £15,000 but wonder if I can squeeze a few hundred of their list. Note that OTE earnings for sales people at trade centre are £35,000 but do not want to contribute too much to this as I will be self selecting my car and I do not see where the SALES value is otrher than trying to get you to buy a warranty. -

any - used car problems 28 Nov 2010 (Forum)
On the web forum I have found lots of good information on Dual mass flywheels, Particulate filters and driving style with both of these things on the car. What I never was asked at the dealer was whar would the car be used for! I would say, first port of call if you have a car that is still under warranty, ask the dealer, as there may be a recall for your car and secondly, if you have dealer servicing carried out you will have your warranty, and if the car is serviced annually you will have some cover up until the 4th service is due, because the dealer will recover some cost from the manufacturer if it is aknown fault, and also will want to keep your custom.
