New Car Help Please. 22 Aug 2014 (Forum)
Hi, so I am in need of a new car as we have a baby on the way and my 2004 RS 182 is not big enough. I have been looking at varoius reviews of cars for weeks now, from 4X4's, Crossovers, sensible family cars but nothing interests me so I think i have narrowed it down to the following, I am looking at stuff about 4 years old and 4-5 door. Golf MK6 GTI BMW 325i Audi A4 2.0T Seat Leon 2.0 TSI FR I have had a test drive in a 2012 Fosuc ST but I have to say I was not overly impressed it did not seem any faster than the 182 even though I am sure it, also did not like the centre console really like the shape mind, but they do cost a bit more than I really wanted to spend. -
Middle Aged Road Rage 21 Jun 2014 (Forum)
There was an article a few days ago in The Telegraph about middle aged men experiencing (not commiting) more road rage than ahy other sector. Today I was at traffic lights in a right filter lane with an elderly Mercedes S-class next to me in the middle lane. As I turned right, it also tried to turn right and it took me a while to realise that the driver was doing. He almost hit the middle of my car and he took umbrage as I hooted. -
Jaguar XFRS Mercedes E63 AMG - Biased between Jaguar XFRS and Mercedes E63 AMG 20 Jun 2014 (Forum)
I am looking for used one and found 2 avaialble: 1. Jaguar XFRS, Blue, 2014, 100 miles millage, 60K asking price 2. Mercedes, E63 AMG (NOT S), 2500 miles millage, 60K asking price Where I like the XFRS out side looks, but XFRS interior is not as good as E63 while E63 looks are good but not much sportier. well I leave this on your feedback too. -
Why do people..... 20 May 2014 (Forum)
There are peope in the Back Room who drive very nice cars, but one assumes that they can afford to buy/lease and run them. I can afford to drive cars which cost a lot more than my S-Max, but it suits my purpose and at the moment, I can find better things to do with my money. But I simply despair when I read, yet again, the same phrases: - "I only have £1,000 to spend and I want to buy a two year old (sic) BMW". -
Fast cars 19 May 2014 (Forum)
In that, I can put my foot right to the floor and still control the car, as it takes a few moments to get going. My daily car is the Jaguar S-Type 3.0 which is completely different and on Tuesday I forgot at first. Got back in the car to drive home and ended up tearing down the street at several mph, before I eased off. 'Steady' I said to myself. -
N/A - Old chestnut again - which camera warning system. 30 Apr 2014 (Forum)
http://www.coyotesystems.co.uk/en/faq-1/getting-the-best-from-coyote It seems to originate from France, which is where I live. Life on the road over here could shortly get very tedious and expensive as the m****s in charge of road safety here (they call themselves experts) are very likely going to reduce the maximum speed limit on all two lane roads from 90 kmph to 80 kph, thats about 49 mph. The common view here is that the reason it's being done is to increase revenue from fixed cameras and speed traps - but wrapped up in the usual fluffy road safety message as usual. -

Mercedes C class estate - Wide profile tyres and fuel consumption 12 Mar 2014 (Forum)
If anything, with current diesel prices, I am even lighter footed with the current car, than my previous one. The first car had a long term perfmance over 10's of thousands of miles, of 42 MPG, the current one shows 37.8. I think that is a staggering and costly difference. It just goes to show that wide profile tyres are not only expensive and give an uncomfortable ride, but make a big difference to fuel consumption too. -
Vauxhall Vectra C - vauxhall vectra 2005 2.2 petrol (starting problems 10 Mar 2014 (Forum)
hi i have a problem with my vectra i was driving it the other day without any problems starting and that same day i took it to s c motor factors to get parts for my other car, it started fine when i went down there. then came back out and went to start and it just clicks once and all the dash lights go off then back on. so i thought it could be battery so i put a jump pack on but nothing just the sameing. so i bump started it and it started fine but when you put lights on and steer all the dash light flicker and the head lights go dim then off and back on again when you stop steering it all seems fine. i got it home and turned it off and went to start it again and same thing just a click and all lights flickering then all come on and seems fine but wont start. and to top it all of when locking and unlocking to car some times it will unlock and lock it self and the alarm gos off then you hit the button to unlock stops the alarm but you carnt unlock the car lol what dose people think my problem can be? -

Petrol or Diesel for long term ownership 14 Feb 2014 (Forum)
As the three smallest are going to be all big by the end of that next decade, I need it to be quite a large vehicle. I have in mind the C4 Grand Picasso, S-Max, Galaxy (ex Addison Lee perhaps), Zafira, or maybe an estate like a Mondeo or Passat. Question is, diesel or petrol. I know the conventional view is low-users should go for petrol, but does the 10y cycle change this? -
Ford Mondeo - Expected battery drain when standing? 26 Jan 2014 (Forum)
not used to car with lots of gadgets, but I assume that it should still be expected to stand for at least a fortnight and still start. The old S-reg Mondeo waited four weeks in the freezing winter of 2010-11 and started first time after that. Am I asking too much of a modern car? thanks for any help. -

Suzuki Wagon R+ - very high mileage vs. very low -- which is better? 7 Aug 2013 (Forum)
Another worry is that the high-mileage car has had 4 previous owners, which will affect its value if I decide to sell it on or, say, trade it in for a new S Cross in six month's time. I've looked up the car in Parker's and Glass's guides as well as in Honest John's pricing guide, whatcar.com and autotrader (checked cars for sale in 200 miles' radius and averaged out the prices found), and there are huge differences in valuation. -
New BMW X5 3 Jun 2013 (Forum)
Very aptly described at Sniff Petrol BMW reveals new X5 Posted in News by Sniff Petrol on Friday, May 31st, 2013 <*** class="alignright wp-image-6553" style="margin: 5px;" src="http://livesniffpetrol.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/NewX5.jpg" alt="NewX5" width="272" height="191" />BMW has revealed details of the new, third-generation X5 along with the promise that it has been designed more than ever to appeal to ‘dreadful human beings’. The new X5’s exterior style is claimed to be ’36 percent more obnoxious’ and that, as a result, it will attract ‘almost twice as much new money’. BMW has been careful not to lose the distinctive X5 look, therefore ensuring that it will still be impossible to find someone who will let you out of a busy junction. -
