• Vauxhall Zafira B - AF40 locking into 2nd gear 2 Jul 2016 (Forum)
  OP-COM shows more than 10 errors after this happens and the TCM shows as "not present ???" until the car has been left off for 20 mins, then it's ok. Running out of ideas, could the TCM be faulty? Any ideas would be great, thanks.

  Hey everyone. So I have a 2003 Ford Focus which has been running absolutely fine, no warning lights or anything until the other day. Suddenly the Airbag warning light appeared and has stayed on ever since. I have checked the wiring underneath the seats, and have discovered that my puppy the little rascal, has chewed right through the plastic tubing under the passenger seat, and has chewed straight through the wires.

  I want to get rid of my car but should i scrap it or try to sell it on? And if so, how do i do this? I know that Suzukis are reliable and (should be) cheap to run so i don't want to scrap it if someone might want it! Many thanks.

  Equally, I've spoken with others who are a bit more relaxed about the whole thing. There's now a bit of a 'burning oil' smell from the engine after a run out. What could be wrong? Thanks Chris

  It's done this before and on one occasion I needed to replace fuse on other occasion it just started working again, now nothing, but it bump starts and runs fine. I don't think it's the starter motor because it has been turning over fine before. It seems like a dry or broken connection or fuse box fault, what can I check and test?  chassis number Vf3wc8hzc9e058847

    They wanted £800 + VAT just to open up the gear box to diagnose the problem - that's not even including any parts and labour to actually fix the problem! I have had the car from a year old.  Run it for 8 years (and over 130,000 miles) and had no problems other than the general maintenance stuff like tyres and brakes etc.  But the high mileage and age mean the car's probably only worth about £3K at best.

  I then drove the car the 10 or so miles home with out any problems, which makes me think it not the fuel pump as surely it wouldn't run? The following day and ever since the car has failed to start. I've tried changing the fuel filter (as suggested by others) but still no joy. It has also been suggested it could be a fly wheel sensor of even air in the fuel lines?

  I have two of the above cars, one I have had for five years and hs covered 246,000 miles and it generally returns between 50-60 mpg, over 60 mpg on a long run. I have just bought another one with 181k on it, in excellent condition and very welll maintained but its only doing about 45 mpg on the same journeys, they are both 2001 GLX estates. I have confirmed thes figures with brim to brim fill ups and they are pretty well correct.

  My wife and I currently run a Ford Fiesta as our sole car and I honestly can't fault it, but the newest member of the family is due any day now and we're likely to outgrow it.  We can just about squeeze the pram in the boot, but adding in additional bits and pieces that babies require, and a dog and an additional passenger is almost impossible.

  Got the car last year, free insurance and no deposit deal. No problems, apart from the insurance has run out now and I'm paying for it myself. Now - the issue is the mileage. I've recently changed jobs and I'm now doing a lot of miles, around 350 per week. The Polo now has 17,000 miles on it but the issue is that I'm limited to about 6,000 a year and a limit of 20,000 total So I'm in a situation - I've asked for a settlement figure - £10,300.

  Hi All, Looking for advice. I have a 2008 Mazda2 that has covered just over 30k miles. I have been running the car without issue for the last three years, and have covered about 8000 miles in total, short journeys to work etc. I have put the car through its annual service for the last two years as required by Mazda at a Mazda garage.

  It started intermittently with the dashboard warning lights coming on showing ABS "STOP" faulty, Anti-Pollution Faulty, Braking System Faulty and then the battery light shows and the Speedo goes completely dead. Apart from the steering wheel that goes really hard, the car runs fine. This happened intermittently for a few months and then it just became permanent. I took the car to National  Tyre  who kindly plugged it into a diagnostic computer and it didn't show any connection.

    my current car is a 100bhp rusty ford so either car is better for me but I would like to keep it for several years so reliability is a must.  Running Cost wise both the 2.0 and 2.5 are similar on insurance and fuel economy. Obviously the 2.5 will cost more but not a great deal.  So Can someone advise me on which to get? I've decided on a bmw so no comments telling me to get something else.

   Recently I have noticed a vibration/shudfdering  sound from the engine, which only happens when the engine is stated from hot.  When cold, no problem and apart from that the car runs beautifully. I was advised my my local garage to take the car to a VW main dealer to diagnose the problem. They say it needs a new Cluch/flywheel and starter motor.  Anothe garage has advised a new Clutch and flywheel.

  I have a 2011 titanium 1.6tdci. One day in the summer,  I was washing my car had the music on for 15 minutes, nothing else running, and when I went in the car to move it, I had a message come up on the screen, amber light with a picture of a battery. Next to it read "low battery indicator see manual". For the past three months, I have had no messages, but the auto start stop has failed to work on the car.

  He tested this 30 times over a week to make sure, and road tested it. What he eventually did was to run a wire from the fuse box via the ignition switch to the pump. All working fine now.Hope this helps.

  In that when ever I start to accellerate it “Jerks” qite badly at times however once the vehicle gets up to a reasonable speed and I increase the speed slowly there is not a problem and the vehicle runs very smoothly. I have replaced the Air filter / fuel filter / plugs and the plug leads to no avail. I also had a diagnostic check done but it was not conclusive. I was told that it seemed there was a conflict between the Lamdar sensor and the fuel injection information to the computer and at low revs too much fuel was being injected and therefore the computer stopped the fuel flow!!!!

  When I bought it it came with the data for several makes including Peugeot on a CD together with a CD which is supposed to enable you to delete embedded data files that you don't require giving room to add files from the data CD which you do need. It's supposed to work with a PC running Windows but I haven't had any success with it. So the question is has anyone else out there managed to delete and add data to there Maxidiag EU702 code reader? If so what version of Windows did you use?
