Sick Alfa 156 2.0 TS Man 9 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Main problem was car vibration all the time, through the front of the car and instability at speed. Dealer agreed with problem and decided to 4 wheel align the car 4 times, no improvement. Ordered replacement front and rear shocks. 5. 24 months old fitted front and rear shocks. -
New car privacy concerns 23 Jul 2025 (Forum)
I’m also concerned about how telemetry data might affect warranty claims or even lead to penalties for speeding based on my driving patterns. The new & upcoming EU and UK Data acts that include provisions for vehicle telemetry data, also does not instill confidence on how our car telematics data is going to be used by external organisations. -
any - another one of those 'which car' questions! 5 Jan 2014 (Forum)
The car will be mainly used for a 15 mile commute each day (50:50 town and 50mph A road) with me taking it say once a week on a longer 50 mile round trip to work on dual carrigeway and maybe a run out at weekends. -
Mazda CX-5 - Mazda CX-5 Engine failure. 30 Jan 2020 (Forum)
Hello, looking for advice. My wife has owned from new a CX-5, 150 sport manual, registered Dec 2012. She has used this to travel to work, 30 miles each way, mostly motorway miles at high speed. Given her type of usage she has had no Dpf problems and no issues except having the EGR replaced under warranty at about two years old. -
AllBrandsNew - buying experience report 4 Sep 2007 (Forum)
I think to find fault with the handling you'd need to be travelling at VERY high speeds, certainly well above the UK legal limit and beyond any use to which I will put it. Previously I have owned a P11 Primera GTE and a BMW 520i E39, so I like to think I know a good handling car, and the Impreza definitely beats them. I will update if there are any problems with the car or getting the warranty document through. -
Hyundai ix35 - Battery problems, 3 years old 30 May 2017 (Forum)
My biggest concern is the battery and why it has suddenly become unreliable, yet tests 'ok' at the dealship. For instance, since it's last service a month ago, I have had to use jump leads 4 times to start the car. Occasion 1 - sat in a car park for 20 mins having lunch with the radio on. Usually the media unit would sound an audible warning about the battery (and flash a graphic). -
Mercedes E series Instument Pod Failure 4 Feb 2007 (Forum)
This in a 2 month old car! Rather difficult on a motorway. I accept that faults occur. I also accept that MB are not responsible for repairing my car out of warranty however the refusal to accept that this early failure fault is well known to them is dismissive in the extreme. -
Peugeot 2008 - - the saga of the u/s locking bolt 4 Nov 2022 (Forum)
So, appointment at local Wellingborough Peugeot garage for a 'complimentary inspection'...had to book in and leave the car for an hour! Pg - 'not covered under warranty'. JF - 'clearly a defective bolt'. Pg - 'must have been over-tightened'. JF - 'untouched since delivery'. Pg - 'probably at pre-delivery inspection where you bought it - they must sort it'. -
Peugeot 308 - Dealership potentially broke my car AGAIN - Advice 26 Jan 2023 (Forum)
Assuming it is the same issue I had before, surely only their service can be the cause since it is supposed to be a brand new engine in the car... and if so they are liable to get it sorted warranty or not. Not to mention i should demand a full refund for the service plan i payed for the "peace of mind" when they may have broke my car on both occasions. -
Nissan Micra - Hello there! 4 Mar 2015 (Forum)
We got it at about 16k miles and its now done some 68k Its replacement, a 32500 mile FSH Citroen C4 Auto on a 07 is costing us, again £2k, with 3 months warranty. The lady who bought the Nissan wanted her next car to be a Nissan and an Auto, so that ruled out 99% of the cars out there! Now, I have a question for you. -
MG MG ZT (2001 - 2005) - 03 2.0 (135)fuel lift pump 8 Jul 2008 (Forum)
At 3weeks old cut out after 250 mile journey at approx 60 mph very frightening for lady concerned! Only the start of the problem though. Sat in main dealers awaiting repair for 2 weeks returned to us with no explanation other than a fuel problem done under warranty. Six months later cut out again whilst in the outside lane of the M6 doing 70 mph having already done a journey of 140 miles half an hour later it righted itself and started.Very frightening again for lady driving it ! -
Honda Accord Tourer (2003 - 2008) - iCTDI a Long term review 7 Oct 2007 (Forum)
The front speakers buzz, something the dealer has refused to sort, and there is the merest hint of a rattle from door trim, but overall it doesn't feel like a 46k car. So, the main dealer is useless, the paint is thin and it has a drink problem. Otherwise it is pretty brilliant. G s -
Good Customer Service 30 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Washed and leathered the Civic over last night - hosepipe ban meant I used 1.5 buckets of water which was used on the garden after I finished. I noticed that the holding clip on the passenger wiper was broken so the blade was loose. Came out this morning and reversing off the drive decided to try the wipers just to make sure passenger side was not going to break loose . -
Skoda Superb (2002 - 2008 ) - Misuse of vehicle recalls. 6 Nov 2007 (Forum)
My VAG vehicle (Skoda) is just over 3 years old and hence out of warranty. I was telephoned by the local dealer who suggested that I might like to book the car in for a service and an MOT. The car is on variable servicing (but has since been serviced by me) and I have an excellent independently run MOT garage nearby - so no thanks. -
BMW 5 Series F10 - BMW purchased with Recall notice 5 Mar 2019 (Forum)
I am extremely disappointed for buying a car, and I have not been able to use the car. And I would like to know if I have any recourse with regards to the price / value of the car against the dealer? To have the sales price reduced. As the car has not been fit for purpose. -

Peugeot 206 CC - Problem with new drive shaft (or not) 11 Jun 2023 (Forum)
I was thinking about taking that metal clip out to stretch it further, and then apply new clip. However, I'm hesitant as that might void the warranty. I just don't like to sit and wait until something happens. What do you guys think ? -
ford focus 1.6 petrol auto 2011 - battery problem 20 Sep 2021 (Forum)
Self and wife help in caring for neighbour. Her car, serviced to date, has developed a fault which drains battery completely in a few seconds. Main ford dealer services always but now closed locally. Battery replaced with Halfords who changed it after a few months as thought it had "failed" and replaced on warranty. -

We've just been informed by our dealer ( car was in for a warranty clutch assembly replacement ) that our Focus 1.6 Ecoboost is being recalled cue to a problem with cooling/coolant levels that could cause the head to crack. Just posting as a heads up for anyone who has one that hasn't heard. -
