Duratech 1,4 with 90,000 on a 02 plate - Electrical fault on Fiesta Duratech 25 Aug 2015 (Forum)
As there were not other problems, I ignored this and then the car occaionally failed to start - everything working including the starter motor but no life to the plugs. After 2-3 minutes it would start normally and run fine. I ignored this as well , mainly as I have been unwell recently, until the car simply stopped when she was driving and remains completely dead. Everything works, as before, but just no life to the plugs. -
Oil Change - Recommended or Interim? 26 Jul 2015 (Forum)
I'm no expert but, to me, engines are engines no matter what badges they have on and 18k seems a long interval. I plan to keep this car until it becomes uneconomical to run so want to make sure I take care of it. Am I wasting my money giving it an interim oil and filter change? I'd probably use a local, reputable Indy and ask them to use genuine BMW kit - the main dealers charge £200 to do the work!! -
Vauxhall Corsa D 56 Plate - ECU Problems 22 Jun 2015 (Forum)
Car will fire up and then just cuts out. In the 2 years I've had it, it has started and run every time without failure a few times the battery has gone flat, but always started with jump leads. -

Honda CR-V - Honda CR-V 2015 refresh - when available ? 19 Jan 2015 (Forum)
Everyone knows the refreshed car is coming, and if they think withholding the information will make me order a run-out "2014 model" they are seriously mistaken. Anyone care to comment or share any information ? -
Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - 1.8 VVT reliability question 7 Dec 2014 (Forum)
Hi there, I am thinking about going for a cheap as possible late vectra 1.8 vvt sri as a cheap family car. I know they are not the greatest to drive but as a car to run around in and do the occasional family holiday in I think it will suffice. Frees up money to have a more interesting second car! I am put off the 1.9 diesels due to the list of what can go wrong with them. -
Citroen C6 - Citroen C6 Diesel engine fuel supply 11 Nov 2014 (Forum)
Recently heading for A3 on M25 east mis fire started just after joining M25 at J13. moved out to middle lane 65 mph misfire started and repeated and engine stopped as approaching J 12 ,slipped clutch to get to n/s lane ( no hard shoulder) decided to abort and go home via M3S . released clutch and engine bump started. Continued to run. Hard shoulder cone off to J3s However got home no further misfires. At no time were any warning lights activated. Citroen Specialist cant find fault . Checking memory showed two sensors activated ( expected since one was crankshaft and other air intake which would be result of my coasting off M25 ) Any suggestions?? -
Ford Focus2003 - Electrical power loss when turning key 29 Oct 2014 (Forum)
The car has been running fine for the last 6 months since I bought it, however for the last month it has been randomly losing electrical power. The car has power & seems fine but when you turn the ignition the power shuts off like a dead battery. -
VW Tiguan Escape - Disagreement with VW and dealership 3 Sep 2014 (Forum)
We bought a 3 year old Tiguan from a VW main dealer here in Cornwall and within their 12 month warranty we took it back and told them the clutch was on its way out. They said not and within a couple of months of the warranty running out it went. £1400 cost to us after some discount from them, 35k on the clock when we bought it and 46k when the clutch went. Now 12 months later when they serviced it we were told that the damper on the drive shaft needed replacing, dealership said £1000 for a new drive shaft. -
Ford Fiesta - Cooling fan issues 2010 Fiesta 1.25 Zetec 26 Aug 2014 (Forum)
Hi all My wife has a 2010 Fiesta that we bought 2nd hand at 5 months old and 7k on the clock. 2 years ago the cooling fan(which runs all the time when the aircon is on) started squealing and the entire assembly was replaced by Ford under warranty. In the last couple of weeks the squealing started again intermittently and yesterday morning as she left for work it started rattling very loudly and on switching off the engine it sounded like a washing machine slowing down in spin -it was that loud. -
Skoda Superb - recall for gearbox oil now the camshaft/timinggone 8 Aug 2014 (Forum)
They refuse to accept it has anything to do with VOSA recall work. I'm not technical but find it hard to accept that a car running perfectly should have a major problem within 15 miles of leaving a garage where engine work has been done. are Skoda right? Help please -
Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI LX - ford focus turbo 29 Jul 2014 (Forum)
He has now said he found that the turbo pipe was split so has replaced it My question is if the turbo pipe split will this have damage the turbo at all as i would like to ensure the car is right before the warranty runs out and is there a way of having this checked if it could have caused a problem Just to add to this on one journey all the power went from the car and it was kicking out a lot of smoke and then all a sudden came back to life -
Anti government rant about water 29 Jun 2014 (Forum)
It's not like the water we use does not evaporate and become rain again, we don't send it into space!!! All our neighbors have wells, there is no government provided running water in the place my company is at. I don't know what they did with all the money everyone pays in tax, they did not even pave the road that leads to where I work. Romania has very low wages and more expensive (second hand) cars than western europe and definatly more expensive than the uk, because you have to pay a huge tax when you bring a car from outside RO or you buy a romanian car that was not sold after 2007. -

Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 - Sump vibration 26 Apr 2014 (Forum)
Has anyone had a similar experience or any idea of what this problem (if there is one) might be. The car runs and accelerates perfectly and I've never noticed any noise before. Needless to say the manufacturer's warranty ran out 4 months ago and chances of Mercedes or the dealership picking up the tab are slim to none. -
Ford Fiesta - Distance to empty gauge 15 Apr 2014 (Forum)
But why should it not register the actual mileage countdown, rather than an accelerated false version. If anyone on here has the new shape Fiesta, watch out in case you think you might be running out sooner than you think. And can anyone explain why this happens when it is not an optional "extra" on my 63 plate Focus. -
Budget 2014 - Petrol Duty Freeze 25 Mar 2014 (Forum)
2012 saw the prices inflate the most - so my question to everyone is what do you think is going to happen? And more importantly, when will it reach the point where I can no longer afford to run my car?! Just after opinion, but you you have facts too then that would be great. Thank you! -
Corsa C 1.7dti - Brakes suddently went hard, until restart 27 Jan 2014 (Forum)
I say well-ish as when I pumped the brakes there on the drive I could consume the vacuum after about 4-5 pumps, although it replenished very quickly. When I tried again after a run, I was unable to consume the vacuum, constant pumping made no different. What the devil's going on? Is it a pump problem? servo? non-return valve?
