MINI Convertible - Mini run flat tyres 16 Sep 2012 (Forum)
However, I am concerned that that if my daughter's car has a puncture she could be stranded (there is no spare wheel supplied). She is a member of the AA, but would they tow her car to a garage to have the tyre repaired? Thanks Tony Stirling -
SEAT Alhambra 2.0TDI PD 140Reference - 2.0Tdi PD 140 fails at 47000 miles 19 Jan 2012 (Forum)
No warning lights, oil pressure and temp guage were normal. No leaks detected. Nothing showing on diagnostic. The car is being towed to Seat dealer tomorrow for a closer look. I bought the car 10 months after first registration by Seat UK with zero miles on the clock. the car would officially be 4 years old in Feb 2012, so technically I have driven the car from zero miles within 3 years. -
Mitsubishi Shogun Equippe Diesel 2007 - Gone into limp home mode for 5th time 19 Oct 2011 (Forum)
The car is an Auto but it gets good regular motorway runs to get it hot and it's not used for short journeys or school runs. It's also used for towing a 25' caravan. Once again the car's off the road and the unhelpfully vague Mitsubishi dealer can't reset or fix it for a week. I suspect something else - if it happens again the car will be sold - has anyone any pointers? -

Nissan Micra - Both Keys Failed 23 Jun 2011 (Forum)
As the spare key does not work I am unable to open all the doors which it says is required to go through the re-programming procedure for the keys. Can anyone help please before I am left with having to tow the car to the Nissan Garage and pay them? -
Mazda MX-5 - Mazda MX5 Engine failure 7 May 2011 (Forum)
I had checked top up bottle before I left but apparently you need to also check the radiator on these cars too. RAC towed me into Newbury garage where they took the engine apart and said it was "well cooked". They had the head skimmed (1mm) but quoted over £1000 to put it back together with no guarantee of it working so I fetched it back to Northants in peices. -
Vw Passat 1.9TDI 52 reg - Car not starting 29 Aug 2010 (Forum)
As stated car started first time with Easy Start in the air intake pipe but won't start on its own. O therwise I will have to tow it to a VW garage at massive expense. -
Most incompetent snow driver 24 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Went through all sorts of ideas with Mrs D - pushing, shovelling, finding something to go under the wheels, calling breakdown service, neighbours, tow rope - all sorts of ideas. Tempers rose. Heavy sighing and hand gestures. Alternative arrangements for day discussed. Telephone calls to make, plans to put in place for cover, working from home, an ever increasing imbroglio. -
Volvo 480 (1987 - 1995) - Pranged it, now undrivable - What do I do next? 1 Jul 2009 (Forum)
As it's currently on the driveway looking unwashed & sorry for itself I've been trying to figure out what to do next, whether to get it fixed which will involved it having to be towed to the garage (which is extra money to pay out as im only TP F&T), or sell it on ebay as accident damaged? The car is in good condition otherwise despite it could do with a wash & waxoyling too. -
Toyota Corolla Verso (2004 - 2009) - 08 2.2D Detachable towball - what should it cost? 11 Jun 2009 (Forum)
We're looking to fit a tow hook to our Verso in order to mount a cycle carrier, since I find the current palaver of hoisting bikes onto the roof puts me off, and my wife won't do it at all. It must be a detachable one, for all sorts of reasons - not least that I'll otherwise be the one to bash my knee on it when squeezing past the car in the garage. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 04 1.8 fitting a fuel pump feed pipe 13 May 2009 (Forum)
hi. im having some issues with my car. its had to be towed to a dealer to be fixed. upon looking at it, they state that a pipe has rubbed through and sheared off some bolts. they say it will need a new pipe and the pipe they need to replace is on the nearside and it is the one that feeds the fuel pump. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - Falken Tyres For My Mondeo? 30 Apr 2009 (Forum)
I can get either fitted/balanced for £70 which seems almost too cheap if they are any good. Wet grip is important to me.. also towing traction pulling a boat off a damp slipway. Any thoughts or experiences of the Falkens?? Thanks, David -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 94 2.0d Won't start 24 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I have a diesal 306 that wont start unless it is bump started via a tow from a mate. I have replaced all the heater plugs and checked that they are getting current which they are, I have checked the fuel supply to the injector pump and this is fine- obviously as it starts when bump started. -
Mazda 323 (1998 - 2003) - 03 1.6 Brake caliper - replacement isn't correct 10 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Is there a batch of Mazda 323s with different callipers or anything like that? Any advice appreciated! I may have to get the car towed from ATS to the main dealer to see if they can fix it. Thanks, Sam -
Vauxhall Corsa B (1993 - 2000) - 97 1.2 poor running, then won't start - now solved 16 Jan 2009 (Forum)
The car very quickly was running badly, cut out when idling, and finally refused to start. It was full of good fuel, and had good battery etc. It was towed to my indy, who found a load of faults in the memory, finally managed to clear the memory, and then started looking at the faults that appeared. The plugs were very badly damaged, and were replaced. -
Renault Espace (1997 - 2002) - 98 3.0 Do I need to replace water pump 19 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Hi All I need some help please with my 1998 V6 Renault Espace. It recently overheated and was towed back to a garage. The AA man said it's the expansion chamber, which I have replaced and it no longer overheats. It now makes a noise but yesterday a friend poured some water on the belt next to the pump and the noise disappeared for a minute or two. -

Ford Fiesta (1989 - 1995) - 93 1.1 Transmission problem 17 Jul 2008 (Forum)
My Daughter has a 1993 Ford Fiesta I think its 1.1. She was driving along normally when suddenly he car lost transmision. She got it towed back to her house. The Engine runs ok and you can select any gear without using the clutch while the engine is running Obviously the car doesnt move. I can also put it in gear when the engine is off and push the car as if it is in nuetral. -
Toyota - Liteace 94 2.0 not changing gears 13 Jun 2008 (Forum)
We had it changed, it went ok, then over heated again. It had a hole in the rad so we had it changed, but they towed it back. Now we have it home the engine runs ok but no transmision. Has it got a safe mode on it, because its an automatic and is stuck in third gear when we put it in drive. We have spent a small fortune and are at our wits end and still no go. -
Blocked motorway - missed flights? 20 May 2008 (Forum)
The Department of Transport for providing such a derisory autoroute network? I suspect twenty blokes and a couple of knotted tow ropes would have righted the rig and cleared it out of the way but as I passed, absolutely nothing was happening.
