• Honda Stream - Engine Management light on 'new' 15 year old car 2 May 2018 (Forum)
  On the way back from the seller's house the engine management light pops on - you couldn't make it up!  It still drives fine though. On a car of this age, is this likely to indicate a * serious* mechanical problem??  All suggestions gratefully received.

  Driving home with family in the car - drivers side electric window “decides” to go all the way down; passenger side electric wing mirror goes all the way up and then drivers side control unit becomes unresponsive.

  Hi all    just done 90 motorway miles and get this on drive screen    "Drivetrain, Continue the journey at a moderate speed. Full performance not available. Have the problem checked by Service"   Pulled into services , restarted 10 mins later and all seems ok, it happened about 10 months ago also on the motorway not found anything about what causes it.

  Is this merely a reflection of the increased number of HGVs and their higher mileage or is it due to increased vehicle weights putting more stress on tyres, reduced maintainance as a cost saving measure, or less sympathetic driving? Have members with HGV experience any views, Perhaps GB?

     He sneezed violently and the cat was startled out of its sleep and unfortunately leapt off the sill.   The cat landed on the head of a motorist who was driving by in a convertible.  It was the rush hour.   The resultant accident took some while to sort out.   The cause took longer to sort out.   I think the cat survived.

  On my family members 05 mk5 golf 2.0 gt tdi with 148k.  Emissions workshop text displayed and check engine light on clocks. Car seems to be driving fine with no cutting out etc What is the most likely cause of this? Only has a glowplug warning when they got it plugged in at their mechanics last week (going to see if anybody local has vcds/vagcom)

Reports that the toll is now expected to make a profit, something it's never done, may indicate it's been sold for a very low price.

  Hi  my 2006 touran has started making a funny noise when the engine is running and out of gear..i have a video of the noise but im not even sure if i can post on here i   m a youngish female and ive only been driving a year so dont have any knowledge of cars really i will take the car to the garage on monday but in the mean time just wondered if anyone else has had  this problem and is it a major one..thanks for reading

  Roughly worth £4500. Part exchange this and possibly add £2k. Top price I'd pay is 14k. I drive roughly 32miles 5 days a week on an A road. Stick with petrol or go to diesel? I have been looking at another focus, civic or Megane. Looking for something similar In size. All advice and info appreciated.

  So got a tap / rattle that appears to be coming from the cam belt side of the engine. Most audible at 2000rpm. Also engine drives fine. I'll link a couple of videos of the noise being made.   Hi all Was going to go out for a drive in the roadsters but I couldn't get her started turns out the high pressure fuel pump is knackered. (Going to sort out a replacement in the week). Was talking to a friend about the car and he was saying to replace the mechanical fuel injection with a retro fit EFI kit to make the car more reliable but I don't think I should as it will take away the originality of the car what are back roomers thoughts?

  I am going to test drive two.  One is Sept 2010  with 61,000 miles on clock 1800 engine.  Is this the Mark 2 ?  The other 2012 with 31,000 miles on clock 1600 engine.  Both petrol with full service history and documentation.

  Plus the Honda Jazz went back to a cvt quite some time ago now the i-shift was dropted very quickly why done people just arrange to have 24 or 48 test drives most car manufacturers are happy to do this

  Need to collect my daughters BMW 520i and arrange to sell it from my house. The car is in the way and she needs the room on her drive. The car is a 1994 BMW Tourer with less than 40000 miles unbelievably and its in remarkable condition for its year. But although it has Mot and tax there is no insurance. I need to buy a days insurance to cover the journey from Nottingham to Northampton.

  Space chosen with no neighbours. On return there was a BMW X5 one side and a Discovery the other side. Couldn't see what was driving towards us from either side until we were half way out of space. Isn't it time SUV, MPV, UTE/Pick-ups had their own designated parking area on grounds of safety of car drivers?

  I am looking to find a durable, presumably harder, compound of tyre. Is there a particular tyre I can look out for that is known to last longer than most? I drive like an OAP so grip won't be a major issue. We have two cars on the following tyres 185/70R14 185/60R15 Any help of personal experience much appreciated :)
• Used car for elderly father 3 Jul 2016 (Forum)
  My father's volvo s40 is getting tired so I am looking for a shopping car for him.   Petrol, Auto, 3 door, occasional motorway drive of 50 miles. I was thinking about a mk 4 VW Polo 2005 with 50k miles for about £2000 or a Fiesta.   I am worried about auto box, never had one before but due to age its time to change from a manual box.

  Just recently, I have noticed if I am driving towards twilight, and No headlights on, the dash is fine, but as soon as I turn on the lights, any of the switch positions, the traction control light comes on, and stays on until I stop the engine and re-start it.
