  Subaru reduces WRX STI price 24 Aug 2012 (News)
  Subaru’s high performance WRX STI model has been reduced in price ahead of the new 62-plate launch, meaning it is now available from £26,995, a £6000 reduction. That price buys a 2.5-litre 300PS all-wheel drive performance car, but those hankering for more performance can upgrade for £1599. That increases performance to 340PS, by way of altered ECU settings and a tweaked exhaust system. The upgraded 340R model will hit 60mph in 4.7 seconds, with improved in gear acceleration to boot.

  New Vauxhall Astra to be UK-built 17 May 2012 (News)
  The announcement comes after a period of uncertainty for the plant, with Vauxhall owner GM singling it out as one of the plants it was likely to close down to cut costs. The Ellesmere Port plant was opened in 1963, but Vauxhall has been building cars in the UK since 1903. The company also has a van factory in Luton. Vauxhall Chairman and Managing Director, Duncan Aldred, said: “This is great news for the Ellesmere Port plant, our employees, the local community, our suppliers, the Vauxhall brand and the UK.

  Mr Schwarzenegger, the governor of the state the new eight-cylinder Ferrari takes its name from, thanked the car manufacturer for its charity work.
