  If your car is towed away, how do you know where it has gone/is going, and that it hasn't just being stolen? Is there some national number I don't know about? They can't exactly leave a notice on the road!

  Hi , I witnessed an accident which may eventualy be seen on traffic cop tv. Ahead of me on the A1 dual carriageway a patrol car was following (well back) a car being towed at 50 mph by another car, the car being towed did not have an "on tow" sign in the rear. The tow car was, in my opinion following too close to a pickup ahead of it and the car being towed was swaying from side to side.

I have had three Passats in the past, all great cars but not used for towing but thinking of giving up my Landrover & buying 4motion Passat as my other Passats always gave me such good reliability & now VW have put their hands up for the diesel injectors nought to woory about ?

  i need a new vehicle to tow my boat and general motoring. i will be towing approx 1600kg. ideally dont want to spend more than about 4k. want good mileage and need to sometimes take 5 people. people have suggested seat alhambra 1.9 110 bhp, others volvo v 70 2.5 diesel, or even passat but not sure if pull ok, any advice very welcome cheers

  Hi there I would like some advice on best 4x4 for towing a horsebox (max all up weight 2500 kg) at weekends but running to work during the week. In other words, I want reasonable fuel economy 5 days a week and the ability to tow me and my beloved safely up hill and down dale at weekends.

  Hi, I currently do around 20000 miles per year in a ford fiesta. I now am needing to tow occasionally (maybe 8 weekends a year) and so need a new car. The towing weight will be low, approx 1000kg. My budget is £20000 and ideally would like 2019 or newer. Due to a long commute mpg is important and I would like at least to get 43mpg as I do in the fiesta.

  Due to the low suspension of this model the car sits very low at the back when towing. The Tyre specialist believes the wear has been caused by towing a caravan as the weight of the caravan on the back has lifting the front wheels, changing the alignment which would cause extra wear on the outer edges Does this sound logical?

    I keep seeing nice models on 'trader but then see that they've got a towbar fitted. Am i right to run a mile at the thought? I know there's a world of difference between towing a little trailer to the tip, or a small dingy and a huge twin axle caravan. I always kind of assumed that I'd never get a straight story from the dealer about what had actually been towed...... However, even assuming worst case - is it such a bas thing if (say) a 2.2 Mondeo tdci or Accord CDTi has done the odd thousand miles or so over caravan towing?

  My mate has just brought a Citroen Nemo.with a tow bar fitted but with no wiring. Has this model got can bus, if so it would need a 7 point relay ? is that correct.

  Hi all - anyone have any experience with towing with Merc's CVT auto box as in the A180CDI? I feel it probably isn;t advisable, but all the books and data suggest the opposite. Braked towing limit of 1500kg is stated, and my caravan is around 1000kg.
