You may find a 991.2 GT2 RS road car in racing yellow alongside the yellow 911 S/T driven by Gerard Larrousse on the Tour de France to third place in 1970; next to the 1995 BPR World Championship winning 993 GT2. Covers come off ‘Reborn’ Range Rover 2 Feb 2017 (News)
The car, a 1978 Classic Range Rover, is finished in Bahama Gold and fitted with a 3528cc V8 mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. It will be showcased at France’s biggest classic car show from 8-12 February. Each Range Rover that goes through the Reborn programme will be restored according to the company’s original 1970s factory specification. -

Several examples were used by the British Expeditionary Force in the early days of the war in France and were later abandoned on the beaches of Dunkirk. Its American cousin, the Bantam, was a prototype for the Jeep and in Germany another Austin Seven cousin, the Dixi, was used as a mobile machine gun unit. -
RM announces new Retromobile auction 21 Jun 2013 (News)
It was entered in the 1953, 1954 and 1955 24 Heures du Mans races, as well as numerous other well-known events including the 12 Heures de Reims; the Tour de France, where it finished 1st overall in 1953; the 1953 and 1954 1000 km Buenos Aires; the 1955 Mille Miglia; and the 1953 Carrera Panamericana. Max Girardo, managing director, RM Europe, said: 'To have already consigned a car as significant as the Gordini is a strong indication it will be a sale not to be missed'. -
Nissan Sunderland Takes On More Workers 11 Jun 2009 (News)
Last month, the plant re-hired 150 staff on 4-month fixed term contracts following significant increases in demand within markets already operating scrapping initiatives, including France, Germany and Italy. Now, following the successful launch of the UK scheme, a further 100 staff will be taken on to help support a planned overall increase of 18,000 units in the June-September production plan. -

Ex-Fangio Mercedes-Benz GP car to head Bonhams' Goodwood sale 2 May 2013 (News)
It was preserved first in the UK by Anthony – now Sir Anthony – Bamford of JCB Excavators, then in France with Jacques Setton. It passed subsequently into the ownership of a German businessman in whose care the car was run at the Monaco Historic meeting, at Goodwood, and in California from 1999-2000. Today, after many years out of public view stored in a warehouse, Mercedes-Benz W196 goes on sale at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. -

The mix of cars is also interesting - Austin, Morris and Ford saloons share the spookily clean and empty roads with relatively rare and exotic MGs and Morgans. -
Preview: Thockmorton Challenge, Worcestershire, 12 October 1 Oct 2013 (News)
The fourth running of the event has also attracted a number of unusual entries, including Ben Williams’ Porsche 944, a rare pre-production prototype manufactured in 1981, and Michael and Richard Moss’ 1965 Fiat 2300S, which rallied in the 1960s and enjoyed a Tour de France win – this is one of only seven cars in the UK and the only one competing in rallies. The Challenge will also count with the participation of two crews from Mission Motorsport, the charity formed and run by servicemen, veterans and motorsport professionals endeavoured to aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military operations. -

The sale, which takes place at the Théâtre du Rond-Point des Champs-Élysées, Paris, on 10 June, is part of what Artcurial calls its sur les Champs series. The Lecoq collection is a significant collection to be selling in France. It was set up in 1963 by André Lecoq (1930-2012) in St. Ouen, near Paris, and is made up of a significant number of concours quality top-end classics. Lecoq established a distinguished reputation for itself in concours d'élégance events, and every car that leaves the workshop has been the subject of the most exacting restoration carried out by master craftsmen. -

The scheme is being launched in conjunction with Autoadapt, a specialist mobility company, which has an extensive network of centres in the UK and across Continental Europe. Their work has laid the foundations for this new generation Corolla all over the world. Aston Martin DB4, DB5 and DB6 in Historics Auction on 18th May 13 May 2019 (News)
Lawrence in Norwich by Aston Martin dealers Brooklands of Bond Street, London on 17th August, 1960. It then went to France and was purchased by its present owner in 2016. The history file has invoice records detailing all work carried out each year from 2016 to 2019 by Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell which total £38,942.
General Motors in talks to sell Vauxhall and Opel 16 Feb 2017 (News)
France’s PSA group – which owns Peugeot and Citroen - is in talks to buy Opel and Vauxhall. General Motors is looking to sell its loss making European division and already works closely with PSA on a number of projects.
Austin 7 national rally is a big hit 7 Jul 2015 (News)
The theme of the 53 rd National Austin 7 Rally was ‘Austin 7s and their cousins’. And vehicles came from as far away as France and Germany to join in the fun. Alongside dozens of the more familiar home-produced Austins were rarities from BMW Dixi, Rosengart and Holden. But no matter where they came from, all the cars at the event had one thing in common – they owed their heritage to the genius of Sir Herbert Austin and his designers who produced the first Austin 7 model in 1922.
GT40 celebrations hit the runway at Sywell Classic 31 Jul 2014 (News)
Dave bought the car three years ago and returned it to road and track use. After suffering engine problems during a race at Val du Vienne circuit in France, he had the engine rebuilt and lightly modified so it now puts out 335bhp from the Ford 302 cu in V8. As well as the GT40s, there will be a mix of Formula One, Group B and C race cars, as well as historic single-seaters and saloons at the event.
Preview: Coys classic car auction, Ascot, 26 October 18 Oct 2013 (News)
A 1961 Jaguar E-type 3.8 flat floor, chassis number 40 is to be auctioned by Coys at Ascot Race Course on 26 October. Chassis number 40 was left in a barn near Le Mans in France in 1974 and was there until discovered by Coys a few weeks ago. It has never moved although the engine was fired up some five years ago and turns over freely. Other cars featured in the Spirit of Motoring Auction, which takes place on 26 October at the Ascot race course on the outskirts of London, include a rare Connaught L3 racing car from the collection of heavy metal rock god Ian Hill of Judas Priest; one of the finest Jensen Interceptors, a Vignale FF model that the auction house has never seen before; as well as a fabulous example of early motoring: a Ford Model T Speedster.
