  Have just bought a Renault Laguna Estate, with credit card ignition key - thing. Just the one. I would feel safer if I had a spare, but am almost afraid to ask the price. Does anyone have experience of this? Is it possible to get them anywhere other than at Renault?

  I have just had to take my car into a Renault dealer as I could not open the bonnet(as suggested by the man at an AA Service Centre). They subsequently charged me £97.10 which involved £6 for oil and £77 for one hour of labour!! Does this sound excessive and is it the going rate for a Renault dealer?

  Dear Honest John I would like to enquire about the bearing number for the rear wheel bearing on the Renault Megane 1.4, 1999 model. I can get the Renault part number, it is 77 012 5812, but I would like to buy the bearing from a bearing outlet, because we are not near a Renault agent.   I have a T reg Renault Clio which keeps cutting out when I get to traffic lights and roundabout etc. sometime won’t start straight after and have to sit on side of road! I have just paid for new fan belt and cam belt and car still unreliable.

  I have been toying with this idea for some time, of buying an Ex NHS renault master and converting it to something that could be used for taking the family and bikes etc away on days out and the odd camping trip. There are plenty of these for sale at around 2K and I guess all will have been well maintained.

  I currently have 2 Renault dci motors in our family having changed from very reliable Renault petrol motors due to the high milage we now do (25000 pa each). The cars are a Kangoo 1.5 and a Clio 1.5 106 hp. I have read horror stories about these Renault dci motors and wonder if I should do anything as preventitive maintenance such as change the EGR valves and sensors at regular intervals or should I just cross my fingers?
