The 2000W Merc SLK200K six-speed manual in the photo was an import with 22,000 miles. The good book says a high £20,875 for a UK 200K and I thought this was dear selling at £18,800. A 33,000 mile 2000W BMW 320D SE Touring also took all the money at £14,100. -

Masses of interest in an imported 124k mile 1991 Porsche 911 993 Carrera 2 Tiptronic took it to £10,500 provisional. A 58k mile 98R Scorpio 2.9 Ultima 24v Cosworth sold for a strong £2,900. As for Rovers, a 59k mile 2000W 75 1.8 Club sold for a steady £3,650 and an imported 58k mile 96N Rover 111Gsi 5-door with a few nasty scratches sold for £325. -

The car was delivered new to the Belgium Motor Company dealership in Brussels in July 1961 and was subsequently sold to ‘Societe de Civel Immeubles en Afrique.’ It resurfaced in France in 2015 and records indicate that it was imported from Luxembourg in 1975. Although it’s in bits, the is complete and was bought by the previous owner to be restored. He gave it to French restorers who started work on the car, but shortly after took it away and kept it safe in his garage in Grigny in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. -

Land Rovers storm ahead at resto show sale 7 Mar 2016 (News)
A 1948 Series One Chassis #149 (and one of the earliest Land Rover produced) sold for £47,250 - more than £20,000 over its lower estimate and the highest price for a Series One in recent years. A historically important (and rare) 1950 Land Rover Series I Station Wagon with coachwork by Tickford sold for a world record price of £38,250 at Silverstone Auctions’ sale in Birmingham on Sunday, 6 March. Bidders were also keen on a 1999 Lamborghini Diablo SV, the last Lamborghini produced before Volkswagen took ownership of the company.
