Ford Mondeo - Radiator Issues - Rev's Drop Causing Car To Stall 27 Jan 2014 (Forum)
Basically I have a ford mondeo 2.0 zetec 2001 petrol. I put some water in the radiator tank yesterday as it was running low. I then went on a drive for about 15 minutes and I could hear the radiator fan going berzerk, funny knocking noises where coming from the engine, my car war starting to over heat which was then causing my car to stall everytime I went to slow down. -

Ford Fiesta - Ford Fiesta (Endura-E) over-revving on startup 25 Nov 2013 (Forum)
It only does it when it's cold, but it really screams for 30 seconds or so before the revs start to drop. After a long drive once it's warmed up it goes back to starting and revving perfectly. This model doesn't have a rev counter, but going by ear I'd estimate it's idling at about 2000rpm - you can even drive it in 4th without giving it any gas! -
1980 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit - Value of Car 19 Oct 2013 (Forum)
I am not new to British car ownership and have owned a 1964 Jaguar, 1961 Rover P4 100 and a 1959 Peerless. Two out of three were right hand drive. I recently fell in love with an exteemely clean 1980 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit and have read as much as I can find about the Spirit and the Spur; of course I did this after I purchased the car. -
Nissan Qashqai 360 - Disabled access and poison pen letter 17 Sep 2013 (Forum)
I am disabled after suffering a fractured spine in a road accident last year. I cannot drive now and my overall mobility is severely restricted. As a result, my wife has to drive me everywhere I need to go, usually hospitat and doctors appointments, physiotherapy and rehabilitation. So when she does need to take me out she parks the car on the road outside our home. -
Renault Laguna II 2001 - Renault Laguna II 2001 - Cutting out HELP 1 Sep 2013 (Forum)
problem two is that my foot well lights and internal light seems to stay on for a while after i have started driving, they do turn off some times and also when i lock the car. im more concerned about the first problem and the second is just a little anoyance, could some one give me guidance on what the problem is so i may go to a garage and say this is what it is and how to fix it and also possibly what you think a rough cost would be to have this fixed? -
Ford Fusion 2 - A tail of a cat 20 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Only happens on engine run down from about 2000 revs to idle. NO noise at all on revving up - smooth as a baby's botty. So, if you drive and change and don't go below 2000 revs, you don't hear anything. The noise happens withe no gear selected, and the clutch in or out. and stationary. AND ... after driving a couple of miles it stops making the noise altogether and the car performs well. -
Volkswagen Golf V - Misfire only on subsequent journies 11 May 2013 (Forum)
My 2005 Mkv TDI will drive like a dream all day as long as the engine is kept running, but as soon as I switch engine off and back on, the car will misfire exactly 26 seconds after ignition. The misfire always starts exactly 26 seconds after the 2nd ignition of the day and for every ignition of the day thereafter. -
Vauxhall Astra 1998 1.6L auto - Problems with transmission (I think..) 27 Apr 2013 (Forum)
It will drive fine if I start it off in 1st, then take my foot off the accelerator and slip it into Drive. I'm now getting a sickly-sweet smell though which makes me think that something somewhere is overheating. -
Volvo XC60 - Clutch issue 28 Feb 2013 (Forum)
In 20 years driving neither my wife or I have had any clutch issues with any vehicle we have previously owned. The volvo dealer salesman at no point during the sale made us aware of the vehicles unusual previous history. -
Nissan Qashqai (2007 - ) - Forum Members Views 27 Feb 2013 (Forum)
Having said that, I must admit the drive is very smooth and a great improvement on previous models. I suppose in real terms I find my current CRV too large and awkward compared with earlier models (although it is, in fact, shorter etc.) -
Nissan Micra K11 - Car Shuts off Immediately. Cannot start properly 20 Feb 2013 (Forum)
For the past couple of days, my K11 has been having problems starting. Start of the day, the car would start fine - I'd drive somewhere, park up and leave it a while. Come back to my car to drive home, and the car has troubles starting - I just have to keep trying and trying before it finally started. Today, the same happened, apart from when I went to start it up to go home.. -
Renault Scenic (2003 - 2009) - 04 1.9dci Performance problems at start up 9 Nov 2012 (Forum)
I have a renault scenic 1.9dci and recently it has developed a fault which is as follows - After start up first thing in the morning, the car is very sluggish as it accelerates thru the gears (virtually no pulling power for a 120bhp engine) when it reaches 2500 revs in either 3rd or 4th, a warning light will appear on the dash "CHECK INJECTORS". Will drive to destination (usually 4 or 5 miles)with the car not allowing me to drive any faster than 2500 revs in any gear, and stop. On start up after that, the warning light disappears and the acceleration appears to be okay (can go above 2500 revs with no warning). -
Peugeot 306 Meridian 1.4 X Reg (Year2000) - Cutting out - Please Help! 7 Sep 2012 (Forum)
Also sometimes if the car is in the wrong gear it just stutters and jolts forwards. After I have been driving for approx 20-30 minutes the car is absolutely fine, start and stop no problem, no cutting out. I have replaced the Idol control valve but don’t want to spend a lot of money as car is not worth much, just wondered if anyone knows a fix for sure? -
Renault - Repayment of Insurance 14 Aug 2012 (Forum)
So for 2 years i have been paying insurance!! To add insult to injury I was informed by the officer that before I could drive again I would have to take a UK driving test. This has since proven to be incoreect ( two calls to DVLA for clarification, as the info he had was based on a consultation document rather than law, but thats a seperate issue I will take up with the the Police Authority).....anyway my question is this....if i call the insuracne company and ask them to refund me my premiums what is the likely outcome? -
Mk4 Astra estate vs mk2 focus estate 2 Aug 2012 (Forum)
Hey need to pick people's brains. I currently drive a mk4 Astra estate which is starting to show its age and has out grown me. I'm 6ft 2 and have to have the seat practically all the way back to drive it. As my two daughters are now 2 and 1 the eldest has moved into a forward facing seat which means that I have her feet constantly in my back and after a recent 3 hour journey with the. -

peugeot 306 1.9 dt - differential/gearbox or shaft 28 Jun 2012 (Forum)
hello all,i have a wobble belived to be front end along with a rubbing grinding noise (ie metal on metal) should start by saying its had new bottom ball joints, new shafts both sides although very slight play in one cv as fitted a few months ago, new track rod ends, new bearings in both hubs and all bushes were changed on arms about a year ago with no play apon checking after reading many posts saying drive shafts (not possible) cvs have been checked no noises at all on full lock so have had the car in the air running and in gear anyone who is going to do this safety first (dont want to get run over by your own car) and in turn have stopped one wheel allowing other to spin at speed doesnt matter what side i stop noise is there along with a wobble that can be felt throughout the car which says its not drive shafts so i belive it could be gearbox or diff as doesnt matter on speed what gear acc or braking if your moving it wobbles can any one back up my thoughts as dont want to start pulling it apart to spend more money and not fix the problem! -
Peugeot 206 lx 1.4 (2003) - Peugeot 206 - Double warning beep 7 Jun 2012 (Forum)
Browsing around forums, warning beeps seem to be a particularly irritating issue with the 206, especially since the beep sometimes occurs when there is no fault. I'm sure i'll be a bit more confident with issues like this once I've got some real driving time in, but right now I'd rather not take the chance and just ignore it. Any ideas? Thanks!
