  I asked her what the smell was, she answered parafin (she experienced the loo and greenhouse heaters as well). Now 100% certain I am not dreaming. How long will that car last. Presumably the owner is running the thing on a shoe string using what he thinks is cheap fuel. As I asked in the title, mad or idiot? Would the DVSA be interested I wonder?

  This is an absolute nightmare with 5 of us plus a dog. Think we're going to have to change holiday plans as it's just not comfortable on long runs. Anyone got any ideas of how I could escalate this and try and get some action? I bet the factory production lines aren't shut down for this, so there must be some available somewhere!! Is this a known problem on the new generation Galaxy/SMax?

  The only solution seems to be to switch off, wait five minutes and restart the engine, at which time it runs normally. There appears to be no pattern to the problem. It occurs during any weather conditions and may happen twice in a week or not happen for several weeks or even months. Our local garage, with the help of the local Mazda franchise, can offer no solution as it has never happened whilst the car is at the garage.

  I am currently running a Volvo V40 R Design 2014 plate 1.6 Diesel.  I am considering changing next year so will be starting research in earnest soon. I am enjoing the V40, it is a comfortable place to be in and offers something slightly leftfield of the usual choices.

  when it starts it revs at 1300 unless I throttle it ,it judders and feesll ike the engine is going to fall out.so I throttle it and stay at 60 or 70 or in a  higher gear through the streets or it judders like hell .when idle it revs at 13 to 1500 and sounds like it is hunting.I have changed the air mass sensor(used one) thats connected the plastic pipe that connects to the airfilter and carb looking thing.I took off the egr valve cleanded it still no improvement.when it is juddering the engine mangement light comes on and been told it is running on safety mode and uses more fuel. any advice would be helpful please this girl needs her car to go to Munich in a few months.And I am lost without it please advise me ty x

  Hello,    I recently have been having problems with a rover 620 which has been left in the garage for a while. The car turns over but will not start, if fuel is sprayed into air intake it runs on this but not on its own fuel. I have checked pulse singlans on injectors, this seems okay, pump primes, and fuel filter is new, the injectors have been cleaned by a local specialist but for some reason the car will not put fuel through injectors.

  It had a new rubber drivebelt fitted 6 months ago. Today while I was sitting in drivers seat and engine running I opened the drivers door and made a video, I had it in reverse and was riding the clutch and you can clearly hear the noise the odd chirp you hear is my reversing sensors.     If I will buy injector through ebay or any other source will it work smoothly.   Is there any problem of sensors.   Can I run the car for sometime in this condition.   Please suggest

  Today my car failed it's mot on a leaking brake pipe not the rubber 1 the copper 1 under the car, This pipe runs over the fuel tank and drops down to above the fuel filter my first question is has anyone changed 1 of these before and if so how was it done as with the fuel tank in place you can't get a spanner in the gap :@  My second question is dose the join need to be there or can I join it in a easier to access point cut bk the line and replace it would that pass the mot and dose anyone no how the pipe is held in place under the fuel tank or if at all?

  I have a Fiat Ducato 2.0 JTD,  At 2350 rpm the engine will either cut out or go into Limp mode. If i then turn off the ignition for a few seconds and restart it, it runs again. I can drive it all day long, justg as long as I don't go over 2350rpm. This only occurs when the engine is warm (ie the temp needle starts to move), before that it'll rev fine. It also, only happens under load.

  255/55 R18 2 The fuel pressure regulator is leaking badly, on the road the engine surges under acceleration, is this a symptom or is it the turbo, it just runs out of steam at 70 mph. 3. Auto box seems to want to change up the gears too early. 4. engine oil leaf, steering box leak, fuel filter head leak, left hand rear chasis leg rotten, need just about every brake pipe replaced, ACE system still fitted and needs deactivated, air removed and on rear shocks.

  It comes and goes, but is mostly there and it worries me a little. The car is meticulously serviced, has relatively low mileage for it’s age (70k) and runs perfectly. Cambelt is also nowhere near due for replacement. I think this short vid clip I made may point out where the sound is coming from. The alloy housing behind the alternator pully seems to be moving in time to the noise.

  I currently drive a 12 year old Skoda TDI with 130PD engine which is approaching 120,000, to date the car has been reliable and is regularly serviced by independent VAG specialist, however I am not sure how long the car will remain reliable and start to cost  money to run more than normal. I like the way diesels drive with plenty of low down torque and the mpg which is easily obtainable (best 71mpg, average 49mpg). I am therefore considering replacing within the next 12 months, I like the VAG 1.4 TSI however for my next car I would prefer to have an auto which if I stick with VAG means a DSG, taking the following into account what other alternatives would people recommend I consider.

  Happy with my achievments I left it assuming all was well. Now it wont start at all. No fuel or spark. The fuel pump runs if I bridge the relay but I still can't get it to fire. I have replaced the ignition coil and module but to no avail. I have been offered a replacement ECU but I'm scared to throw good money after bad.

  Hi - I run summer / winter tyres throughout the year.  I'm unsure whether I should rotate the tyres when putting my winters back on this year (I mark the tyres so I know which axel they were attached to) or should I simply put them back on to the axel they previously were fixed to?

  There is another thread running re high power light bulbs in which it seems to imply that bulbs are now available in right or left hand dip. This seems likely to me in that most cars now have comletely bank smooth lenses and I presume the dip pattern is generated by the bulb - is this the case?
• Ford Focus - EXTENDED WARRANTY 20 Mar 2016 (Forum)
  Just over a year ago I bought a Ford Focus from Motorpoint in Newport. The car was only 6mths old and still had over 2 years of the manufacture`s warranty to run. The extended warranty was not to kick in until 2017 (Sept). Unfortunately I was involved in an accident last week and the insurance company have told me that the car is a write-off. I rang Motorpoint this week and was told that I was not eligible for a refund for the extended warranty (£300).

  [Jan 2016]..same thing... stopped car, phoned Mazda assist etc. Mazda  dealer will not provide paperwork re what they have done to my car. The guarantee runs out in Sept.  I've asked for refund as it is not fit for purpose. All they will do is provide a free oil change. I drive 90 miles a day on a mixture of motorway, country roads and town roads. I don't want a car that has an inherent fault every 5 months..leaving me stranded.
